Forums - Sales - First day sales in Japan (4/23) - MHG Wii, Killzone 2, Disaster Report 3

really good sales should make 135-150 first week. people in japan know that MH3 is coming soon so not everyone will be buying rehashed ps2 game.

MHG not the beast some people expected??? Knew it!!

Still very good sales though.

Who predicted this game to be a beast? It's a port of a PS2 game that was also released on PSP and has pay to play online. Whoever predicted this game to open to massive numbers thought of Monster Hunter 3 instead.

I haven't seen anyone expect MHG to be a beast, but alright ... Sure you aren't thinking of MH3?

These are fine sales for MHG, 92,000 out of 210,000 shipped on day one is pretty good.

@Louie

No the wii owners didnt say it would do gangbusters but put it as a reason for the Wii to zoom past ps3 in Japan. Thats to me is them just saying the game is going to be big

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Also, Disaster Report 3's first day sales are better than Disaster Report 2 (PS2) first day sales.

Nice sales for Monster Hunter and Killzone.

Go MHG!

also KZ2 off to a better start than I expected TBH...

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

Why is it that people assume the japanese audience that buys MH on PSP is different from the audience that would buy it on PS2. They are the same people.

I don't believe japan is as graphics whorish as westerners are, why else would handheld titles be crushing the competition there.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
