"- Next time you go to purchase a movie, you'll be able to pay for it with a twenty-dollar bill! (And, you'll be able to purchase any movie you want, not just ones available on BR.)"

Excuse my rudeness for the previous post but you do realize that the bluray drive CAN play DVDs?!

Hence "regular DVD drive" vs "BluRay drive" in my post.

This is proving something else unintended.. that Sony fanboys have difficulty reading.

So here is the question ure asking:

Would you like to downgrade you r PS3? .........discuss

The only points to having a DVD drive over a Blu-ray drive would have been a slightly higher transfer rate because - 2x Blu-Ray
The price point can be argued but seeing how having DVD in PS2 was such a successful strategy for Sony and that other less important tech (teh cell) could have been cut its hard to argue.

i thinkthis guy meant: Would you perfer if PS3 just have DVD player and no Blu ray player?

Nope. I bought it because it was both a game console and a BR player - otherwise I'd only have a PC and a Wii at the moment.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

WOWWW, a blu-ray drive can play DVD's, also blu-ray just won the format war, so why would it win, if people didnt want it?

Before You accused someone having difficulty in reading, why not read your own thread title first?

I took the liberty of posting so you won't have any trouble.
