Forums - Nintendo - MySims Reviews - Can EA stuff up again?

That's a misunderstanding of the reviews, megaxl.

They talked about AC and other Sims games in reviews. They say it's not quite as addictive as AC...it gets repetitive. And the relationship development from The Sims isn't quite as strong in MySims. MySims is more about customization and building stuff for residents in your town, which apparently is only fun for so long. They're not partial to FPSs...they're reviewing it against other games of the genre.

I think it could still be fun, and I'll probably give it a rental if my sister doesn't want to buy it.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

well i always distrust in the reviewers, is very clear that they always put high scores in violent games and low in casuals or cute games.you only see the websites , I prefer to prove them games first, but many people like to watch the reviews, is good too, every one decides.

That's a little disappointing. I was hoping this was going to be a good one but hey, that's one more game I don't have to worry about finding the budget for.

It looks lovely. Some of us love lovely.

Some say that, whereas the Official Nintendo Magazine UK says it's better than Animal Crossing (a Nintendo property) "in almost every way".

I'm really curious where this one will land in the end. I'll still buy it anyway, as this is probably "game of the year" for my girlfriend.

Reality has a Nintendo bias.

I like the style...very humorous and cute.

I think it is pretty different to The Sims. I would say, if you like building and designing houses in Sims you'll love MySims, but if you prefer building relationships between the Sims then probably you won't like it as much

That actually sounds more up my alley. In the final 6 mundane months I played Star Wars Galaxies, All I ever did was redesign my Museum over and over again, only thing I enjoyed any more. Typically in the Sims itself I always found keeping up relationships kinda annoying, and usually enjoyed designing my house and buying pricy crap more.

Watching the GT review, scores seems a little off from what they actually said. They were generally pretty positive; maybe it's just hard to convey exactly how monotonous something is over a video review. Metacritic shows it has three +90 reviews, all oddly from UK publications.

All I ever did in Star Wars Galaxies was chill in my ship, decorated with all sorts of crap. I had parties and escorts flying next to me...I never really did much in the game hehe. I just played music and rearranged my ship and my section of the house my group was living in.

It's kind of hard to describe why exactly a game gets a certain score in the span of a couple minutes...but I'm sure GT's number is what they mean. They did sound kind of "so-so" the whole time...I was expecting a 7 something. But in the end, they've got a total number in their head through the review, and that's definitely states how they feel as well. I will wait for IGN's review though, too. If it gets a better score there, I think I may still get it.

And EA goes 0 out of 3? 3 casual Wii exclusive pushes not working? How is this possible?

This has to sell based on the Sims license alone.

I thought for sure that Boogie and Carnival would sell and they didn't.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Isn't the Sims one giant chore anyway? Anyone that is surprised that is game is repetitive evidenly never played the original Sims. I created a small house in a nice neighborhood. My Sims would get up in the morning go to work, while they were away, the other Sims would clean the house, take a leak, get dressed, watch TV to keep his spirits up, call friends to come over to get companionship. Some time during the day you would have to find time to read so that the idiots would get smart enough to use the oven without burning the house down. Then get to bed before it got too late so that they wouldn't be tired the next day.........................over and over and over and over again. The game lasted about two days on my hard drive, and genuinely was addictive, but when my house caught and killed half my family for the umpteenth time, I said hell with it. Why are they making this game again?

I've seen better attempts at sarcasm. And Carnival Games was made by Global Star Software, a division of Take Two.
