The 360 is in a position where it outsells the PS3 due to the price, the amount of people who shout "if PS3 drops in price so will 360" I cannot help but feel that most think the only reason the 360 is chosen over the PS3 is price. That will never last, a point in time will come when people pay that little bit extra to bite the bullet, the PS3 outsold the 360 for a couple months when the price reduction had not happened correct?
I'm not sure why people would choose PS3 over 360 TBH at this present time since the latter system has the best exclusives (IMO :O) and the better multi-plat games. With the exclusives arriving on the PS3 in the future I can only see the 360 struggling more and more.
That is of course if MS does but money hat all first/second party games :P

You know that's coming to the 360 right? Day and date with the PS3 version in every country but Japan.

Microsoft doesn't money hat all of their games. They use money to acquire developers or DLC, but they do not money hat like Sony did famously with third party devs. They made it impossible for spending conscious consumers to tell the difference between the lineups of the PS3 and the 360, making the PS3 a non-factors especially in countries who are feeling the economy the most. Sony was not prepared, nor will they work with the customers during the economical situation. Microsoft sees this opening so they made it all about price.
After E3 you will see that the 360 a pretty good lineup just like the PS3. Neither systems have extremely impressive lineups in 2009. 2010 is when I expect the epic games to come out.

STAGE, what do you think MS will/could announce at E3 to tell people "hey, Sony´s not the only one with the goodies this year'?

Actually yes, because Microsoft is rumored to be on the defensive this year with few games. Microsoft has already stated that they have been holding their cards to their chest and they will reveal many things at E3. Microsofts goal this year is to steam roll Sony in the sale department rather than using heavy hitters like last year.
If Sony does $100 price cut, Microsoft might do 360 Arcade for $150-$180; 360 60GB for $250-$280; 360 Elite for $330-$380. Microsoft knows that the more consoles they sell, the more games, accesories and DLC they sell and I believe Microsoft is making money on every 360 sold.
Well I was joking about the money hat comment, many people believe that is the reason exclusive games go multi-plat however I do not for most cases. Reason games are on 360 is due to them selling well, simple as.
Unless you know about what will be announced at E3 which I know you don't the 360 line up for this year is going to be meh compared to PS3 with games like Forza 3 being announced for this year.
Next year is going to be a monster for both Sony and MS, already we have GT5, GOW III vs ME2, LP2, Alan Wake (?) and Splinter Cell Conviction etc.
It seems 360 owners are clinging onto hope that E3 will be a monster and announce a few huge games for the rest of the year besides Forza 3 I do not see that happening. It's not like Sony does not have anything left for E3, thing is people forget that the PSP is going "gangbusters" with games announced and we have no idea what come first parties are doing ala Team ICO.
People like Zomb1337 which make me think that the 360 only sells due to price, it's not going to last forever kids. :/
Achievements will keep the 360 ahead of the PS3 this gen. People who start understanding this feature will want to be on the console that has that complete exprience. Sony might have made a mistake by impleminting this feature in this gen, instead of waiting to put it in the next console. It's pretty much a gimped system on the PS3. People are holding off on playing games, because they are waiting for Trophy patches. If the PS3 didn't have an achievement system, people wouldn't hesitate to enjoy it now, instead of waiting.
It's the waiting that's killing the PS3. The whole PS3 experience feels like it's in Beta, a work in project. With the 360 and Wii, at least you feel like you can enjoy it now without feeling cheated in a way. They know the games are in their finished state and don't need to play the whole game over again to get the complete experience.
The PS3 has the best game this gen in Valkyria Chronicles, but you still have this thought in the bcak of your head that it's missing something... Trophies. We wouldn't care, if the whole system would have never been implimented. The game would have felt complete and many people would be happy to die, knowing that they just played one of the best games ever made.
Some people only play games with trophies. The older games will get neglected, devs lose money. In a way Sony might have screwed those devs over by implimenting trophies as an afterthought.

You really believe the "Achievements" on the 360 are any or much different than trophies on the PS3? You really believe that trophies are essentially what holds people off from playing PS3 games? You do realize that almost every game released in the past year and beyond has had trophies right?
Yeah. I play PS3 games and just think "unfinished" "rushed". My goodness delusion runs deep.
So wait? Sony is missing something..Trophies...Yet you wouldn't care if it never would have been implemented in the first place? LOL. What type of half-assed, backwards, caveman logic is that?
You really believe people didn't buy older games because they didn't have trophies? I don't know what to say. I hope this was a joke post. It's completely insane. |
