Forums - Nintendo - Im going to play Zelda for the first time ever. Im very excited!!

I've received my zelda collection on the gamecube, and i will be playing my first Zelda game shortly. Im very excited I must say I know a lot of people love the Zelda series and has been praised by both gamers and critics. Which one do I Start with, the zelda collection contains 4 classic's in the zelda series ocarina of time, majora's mask etc. I also purchased zelda twilight princess on the wii. But I will play that later.

Please guide me and am I in for a journey like no other?

Why do people love Zelda so much?

Our RPG historian BengaBenga could you please enlighten me with your vast expertise.

Thanks a lot.

zelda games just seem to give people a since of wonder and exploration.

the creator of the series, shigeru miyamoto, often said he was originally inspired to make the legend of zelda from exploring the many caves and other features around his home [he lived in an area with beautiful and varied scenery] he wanted to make a game where players could just have fun exploring in.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1

you can view a few screenshots from the game in my photo album here; http://www.vgchartz.com/photos/album.php?album=2312

I advice you to start with the latest Zelda, which are easier... Or else, you won't love them that much after playing the "old" ones.

Zelda is a great franchise, it's time for you to take part in a big adventure; you won't ,I think, regret it.

i'd say just play them in the order that they were made, so...

the legend of zelda
zelda 2; the adventure of the
a link to the past
ocarina of time
majories mask
wind waker

[i just listed all the console games, because i don't know the 4 that the collectors edition has.]

edit; actually, from reading a few post back, maybe it would be a good idea to play them in revers order lol, since the later once were easier.
