You're reasoning doesn't make much sense, either...

Why would they abandon the Wii FE fanbase and just make a new DS one when one already came out?

THere is no dichotomy here. The Wii FE fanbase and the DS fanbase are the same people. Fire Emblem players are about as hardcore as Mother fans, or close.

Pretty much.  They also have engines they can use for portable and Wii versions.

Did you know that they used the exact same engine for all three of the GBA games?

No matter which platform they choose to make, they have a good majority of the infrastructure in place to build it.

whether the DS version makes more economical sense or not doesn't matter. Radiant Dawn came out how long ago. You can bet they have been planning and working on a new Wii version/engine and all that for the game.

shadow dragon just came out recently, too soon for a new fire emblem for ds to be announced, unless another remake

Awesome!

I would like it better on Wii. Radiant Dawn was so incredible. The DS game is nice, but on Wii it would be much more epic.

@Khuutra: You DIDN'T play PoR and RD?!? Get out of here. This is for REAL fans only!

How does my reasoning not make sense?

They could either make a Wii-game for a bigger budget and get smaller profits (since sales are roughly equal), or make a DS-game for a lower budget and get bigger profits. I'm not saying it's set in stone, and I've been very clear about that, but there is no way you can actually believe my reasoning doesn't make sense. From a business standpoint, a DS-game makes a lot more sense than a Wii-game for this particular franchise.

Your reasoning, however, is pretty much "No, I want it on the Wii and they already made one for the DS so it's going to be on the Wii" ... It's pretty unlike you.

In that case they should make more DS games instead of Wii games if that's the case. Not just Nintendo, but everybody.

No, they shouldn't. You're not reading my posts properly. For a counterexample, let me point to sales of Twilight Princess vs. sales of Phantom Hourglass. A very clear difference of almost 2 million (or more? Combining both TP-versions of course), but with Radiant Dawn and Shadow Dragon they're near identical. I don't see why you're being so stubborn about it.

From a business standpoint, does it not make more sense to make a game that costs less to make and gives more profit than one that costs more and gives less profit? The obvious answer is yes. Nobody can dispute it. Have I said it will be for the DS? No. I've VERY clearly stated that it makes a lot of sense for it to be on the DS, from a, once again, business standpoint, yet I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if it came for the Wii. I don't even see what your arguing with me about. It sounds like you're saying it's impossible for it to be on the DS and it would be completely unthinkable and make no sense whatsoever.

I have the Radiant Dawn box in my hand! I'm playing Path of Radiance starting in a week!

I even bought Radiant Dawn brand new so the sale would count!

as I said before incase you didn't see, shadow dragon just came out and Radiant Dawn came out almost 2 years ago.

most likely they are already working on a wii version for a while now, before they even saw how the DS version sold.

Plus has Nintendo ever abandoned making a franchise on one system and only made it on another, no.

They still make mario kart, mario, zelda, metroid and so on the both.  Or can you point to an example that they quit making a game on a 3D system and stuck with handheld.  Don't bring up some 2d game from nes/snes that is only on gameboys/ds's

Hmm... It says

"And the blockbuster game is revealed...!?"

That goes against it being DSiware.

One thing.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon is still selling in the US. And fairly much actually (12K last week). Announcing a DS one now would be odd.

I think it's DSiware. If it's not, it's a Wii one.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

So we're getting a new excite truck, endless ocean & now fire emblem?? Where the heck is my kirby & fox!?!

I have to admit that the FE on GBA are awesome, and I found them better than the GC/DS/Wii versions imho. Just that the first I've played hooked me more than their last counterparts.

Since I played FE, I am more keen on tactical RPG such as Shining Force.

oh btw... TRIANGLE ATTACK !!!!
