I think Fire Emblem works better on handhelds than it does on consoles, but I wouldn't balk at a Wii game.

You should play both Pool of Radiance and Radiant Dawn before making that statement.

Sure you don't mean "Path of Radiance"?

OT: I'm expecting DS for this. Sure, could be Wii, and I wouldn't be disappointed, but I think budgetwise and profitwise DS makes more sense for Nintendo right now.
Anyone know when the next Nintendo Dream comes?

wat? The guys who make over a billion a quarter would have problems like this?

They need a new FE for Wii to raise sales and have more core games for Wii...

I hope it'd have better online than FE: SD for DS.

Have you even played the online for SD?

FE11 (SD) is the worst FE in this millenia. By far. The online, however, is pretty good. (The game is great, but was tons worse than I expected. The online is decent, and far better than I expected.

So essentially, don't make statements about games you haven't played.

Oh, and there's little that means less for hardware than Fire Emblem.

I'm guessing one of these things.

1) A Wii game. Full game, not a remake.

2) A DS game. Remake.

3) Thracia 776 / Holy light release on VC in Americas.

So? Like there hasn't been games for Wii/DS in the same series that haven't sold similar. And why was there a FE game for Wii anyway if it was like that?

They did a Wii FE. Then they made a DS one. Time for them to make a new Wii one.

... Your reasoning isn't making sense, Soriku. Are you tired or something?

Problem is; FEDS' online is balanced.

Make an online with several maps, and more units? It would be harder to balance, and it wouldn't really add a lot.

People think that having 20 units would be awesome, but it would probably be terrible. Are you interested in waiting 5 min for your opponent to finish his round, or have far too little time to finish your round.

5 is nice. You could have 10, and maybe 2-3 maps, but FEDS' online is really pretty good. Fire Emblem isn't a very good multiplayer franchise.

Edit:

I know what this is! It's Fire Emblem 6 (or 7, 8) comming to Japanese DSi shop. (Nintendo Dream is Japanese).

Edit: nevermind

Hopefully it'll be for the Wii. Did Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance use the same engine? It might be time for an update. Not like that would matter to core fans anyways.

You're reasoning doesn't make much sense, either...

Why would they abandon the Wii FE fanbase and just make a new DS one when one already came out?

How does my reasoning not make sense?

They could either make a Wii-game for a bigger budget and get smaller profits (since sales are roughly equal), or make a DS-game for a lower budget and get bigger profits. I'm not saying it's set in stone, and I've been very clear about that, but there is no way you can actually believe my reasoning doesn't make sense. From a business standpoint, a DS-game makes a lot more sense than a Wii-game for this particular franchise.

Your reasoning, however, is pretty much "No, I want it on the Wii and they already made one for the DS so it's going to be on the Wii" ... It's pretty unlike you.

THere is no dichotomy here. The Wii FE fanbase and the DS fanbase are the same people. Fire Emblem players are about as hardcore as Mother fans, or close.

sweet been waiting for a new fire emblem. hell this year alone 2009 played through path of radiance twice and on my second playthrough of radiant dawn right now.

Well.

Pro DS:

- Shadow Dragon was a remake, and critically acclaimed as inferior. Yet, it will outsell Fire Emblem: RD by 25-50%.

- DS costs less to develop for.

- Making a DS remake of 4 or 5 should be simple. They have the engine, and they don't need to change a lot of things.

Pro Wii

- The game might end up being better, and bigger.

But really, it's neither. It's DSiware.

Yeah, I'm in full agreement with WoW on this one. I've put hundreds of hours into these two games. The portable titles are good but they didn't hold my interest like PoR and RD.
