Get GTACW first. CT is awesome, but if you already played it then you will enjoy GTACW more for the first time run. Also they are merging online webpage to have interaction with CW.

CT is pretty much mostly CT. So it a good game on the go, but it's CT.

GTA first.

Words, I personally felt the DS dialogue was vastly better in both of those examples.

@Words.... I have never played any Chrono, and I certainly have no aversion to olde-speake, but I find the DS script you posted a better read for this Frog character.

For the Magus bit I prefer the SNES, but it's a closer match, I think it is the over-description of the wind in the DS that makes it worse.

Then grab Chrono Trigger DS instead of GTA.  If you enjoy that translation more then there's no reason not to go with it.

Still gonna get both, though. Not sure which way I'm leaning right now, though. As in, which of them to get first.

Those are very different kind of games. If i would you ill get CT just because it will be more cheaper, and get CW later.
