Anything Halo.

Like Halo or not, it's responsible for many of the great games you're playing today so to say it should have never been made is a little silly and shows off your fanboy colors.

At least if I get classified as a fanboy, it better be a PC fanboy :P

Anyways, Halo isn't responsible for ANY game that I particularly love. Console FPS is for the poor.

Fine, it is responsible for most of the good FPS games today.

Name five FPS games that it is "responsible" for

I'm still waiting for this reply myself :eyeroll:

Are we talking about games that used halo as an inspiration for the health recovery system and co-op single player campaign? cause then its about 30-40 games it inspired...

Do you HONESTLY find the health recovery system of a 'shield' that innovative, really? Are console games SO BLAND that you have to stretch THAT FAR? And how the hell was the campaign mode innovative? SERIOUSLY, stretchin for ideas eh?

The Halo francise is the most overrated bland game to ever hit the console market. It provides a bad name to all FPS that even showed effort at creating an original entertaining plot.

I probably have more ps3 games than you :/

Around the Network

I'm going to be very general here:

1. Any "party game" and games with "Wii" in the title. Wii sports was great, but Fit, Play, and Music all sucked.

2. Music games (Rock band, GH) - Same game, new songs. Why is there one each year?

3. Sports games - They shouldn't be annual. They could just charge $5 for a massive roster update each year instead of releasing a new $60 game.

4. Kiddie games - Half the shit you find on DS. I'm not saying DS is bad, in fact is really fun, but a good portion of the games suck.

5. Game spinoffs. Please devs just stick to the main series. We don't need 1 million final fantasy spinoffs, get to work on FF13.

well since so many hating on lego rock band i'm curious on it.

i have guitar hero world tour, if i buy just the game rock band (whatever, lets say lego) can I play it. drums, guitar, mic it all. or do none of the things work?

It's sound track, art and style are geared towards tweenies. Essentially it's a younger kids game 8-15. It's still Rock Band 2 and should be compatible.

My vote is on BearDown(http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/beatdown/index.html)

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Alan Wake. Nobody really knows what the game is about and yet the game is getting so much hype as a huge game for the 360.

same goes to Heavy Rain - nobody said atleast a scrap about story yet it's the best story EVAH in ps3boys eyes. personally i don't think Heavy Rain looks that impressive so i can't agree with second thought on 100%.

lol...youre not really giving arguments why your opinion is right...youre jsut crying "come on...but come on"

In any case, when a game has a feature and then 90% of games take that feature and use it, then I consider that initial game to be an influence. Name me 5 FPS games that came out this gen that don't have health recovery that Halo introduced.

Also, coop multiplayer campaign. Halo was the first to set the bar for this...since multiplayer coop has become the standard.

With your way of thinking...was super mario really that innovative? I mean all it did is take pitfall and ad power ups and platforms...pfft, I could have done that.
