Forums - Nintendo - The Conduit is going to be huge thing is getting annoying!

I say this because everyone is saying that The Conduit will be a huge seller for Wii. I hear people saying that it will sell 300K-500K in the first week and 2-3 Million LifeTime. Well everyone should know by now it won't so stop saying it. I know a lot of peole are excited for this game but honestly do you think it will sell that well? Everyone should be well aware by now that 3rd party traditional styled games don't sell well on Wii. Everyone said that these would be huge  multymillion sellers too:

Deadly Cretures(50K)

House Of The Dead OverKill(230K)

RedSteel(1.1 Million This did sell kind of well and did hit 1 Million but I still don't see 2-3 Million)

No More Heroes(400K) People may say this is unfair but No More Heroes 2(Not even gold and not even close to 2-3 Million)

More Recently:

MadWorld(160K in 4 others weeks and 5 American Weeks) Remember when people said this was going to sell 150K at the least in its 1st week. Um... I somehow don't see it.

Now people are expecting to see this:

The Conduit first week sales equil to 300K!Or this:

The Conduit gets 500K in week one! Or this:

The Conduit sells 2 Million on Wii lifetime sales! Or finally this:

The Conduit sells 3 Million copies being a huge hit on Wii!

Now I ask this will people ever learn?

Get ready to get slammed.

Here is the thing, I was slammed (and banned) for predicting bad review score for Battle of the Band, and slammed (and banned) for predicting bad sales for Deadly Creatures. I was right on both front.

I don't get the point of this thread (unless you are looking for trouble), Yes, I agree with your point and I think it's most likely what will happen. But Wii community won't hear it, and there's no sense trying...

Welcome to the forum, btw.

Soriku (Feb 10/08): In 5 years the PS3/360 will be dead.

: Too Human I even expect 3-4 mill entire life and 500,000 first day. GoW2 ( expect 7 - 9 million entire life and over 2 mill first day), Fable 2 (expect 5-6 million entire life and 1.5 mill fist day) BK3 (expect 4 - 5 mill sales entire life and 1 mill first day).. Tales/IU/TLR should get to 2 or 3 million! post id: 868878
Episode 2:
Letsdance: FFXIII (PS3+360) first week in NA = 286K
According to pre-order rate in week 13 (post id: 2902544)

Now you know how I feel when I have to see all the FFXIII shit. Its got high production value but will be just another JRPG but will get praised by all the annoying as shit RPG fans. Of course youre talking about sales but same shit imo.

Btw I dont give a fuck about The Conduit I bet 500k at best. Im just saying hype for any game is fucking annoying.

You just gotta learn to ignore it.

You will be violated for this.

You should take out Red Steel. It's actually a counter-example to your point. That said, these are more like games that didn't fit their Vgchartz hype rather than gamers that didn't fit their actual hype. A lot of the Vgchartz community loves niche games, but it's not really representative of the market. Combine that with this being a sales based website, people have unrealistic expectations.

I see The Conduit doing fine. Even if it sells below the expectations of a lot of people, it will most likely make a profit. I personally don't want it to (since High Voltage is full of crap), but hey, if it's a good game I hope it does well anyways.

enjoy life much?

Fans of every console do it when a title they are excited for is on the horizon. Were you here during the Gears of War 2, KZ2 release periods......it was insane for owners of both consoles. Did sales match expectations.....for some.....no......others.....yes.

I think it is fine for fans to be excited regarding a game they have high hopes for. Not all of us are......realistic, regarding sales projections. We may or may not make accurate assumptions on sales....but guess what......that is O.K. Everyone is entitled to make prediction or get hyped about certain titles.

Just dont expect threads like this to change the nature of fans on...........wait for it....... a gaming sales site.....:P

what's red steel doing on the list?

I really don't think people are being unrealistic when they say the conduit will sell between 1-3 million copies. I think they're being unrealistic with a 300k first week but I'm sure not many people think it will do that.

Red Steel and Call of Duty 3 were able to surpass a million sales so I don't think it's unreasonable to think the Conduit will surpass them.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."
