Forums - Gaming - Sega talks sales: Yakuza 3 broke even, 7th Dragon very good, MadWorld meh

people take these quotes to literal. i doubt they just broke even. probably something more like they are in the black for the game but nothing worth to brag about.

Kaz - kenzan was suppose to be a ps2 game so the game is mostly ps2 graphics with cut scenes being the ps3 graphics so i doubt they lost much.(if any)

taking that into consideration do you really think this game cost alot of money since they already had most of the engine?

Yakuza 3 uses the Kenzan engine.  The Kenzan engine is a PS3 engine.

Therefore the Kenzan resources from PS2 must have been scrapped.

Too Human was supposed to be a PS1 game aftearall.

i'm sorry mates but:

1- the fact that Y3 just broke even isn't something to celebrate at all but still a lot can be done imo to gain profits and I'm not being negative here just realistic.

2- what about madworld , he said y3 broke even , does that mean MW lost money?

Yakuza 3 breaking even is very good news
1) it's certain to profit when they release cheaper edition or bring it overseas
2) shows big HD game with serious advertising needs only 500k sales
3) more or less proves VC is either already profitable or close to breaking even

Yes but I doubt if it's more than 50k people like this.

It's probably about 50,001 because I'm definitely interested in this game but never played any of the Yakuza games before. :p

Ok let's make that 100k

Yakuza 2 sold 40k in US + uknown number in others

then again 50k copies*20$ profit= 1M USD should be enough to pay for subtitles and some minimal marketing.

wrong, go look at kenzans gameplay. total ps2 graphics. the cutscenes however are ps3's graphics

I just hope Yakuza can have some decent sales in US and Others.

With an engine prebuilt... that are advertised in one region.
