Forums - Nintendo - Wii Zapper: Training children to become ultimate killing machines

Interesting link...perhaps I'll pull that out when I hear "lazy Americans" posted on any Youtube video remotely related to America.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

If there is such a divide, then all the better for America. Because i have still yet to meet an american in Europe that would act like a normal human being to tell the truth.

As for conversations, i find it hard to have one without succumbing to prejudice once in a while. Because that's what helps us debate, doesn't it? Sure that we can always sweet talk and everything, but that doesn't help IMO. When there is a clash of believes or virtues only then can people actually begin to understand the other side.

My point? I think that i was mistaken with my earlier posts. I suppose that i went a little overboard with my "dumb americans" antics. Sorry :P. But i still think that those parents are stupid.

Those parents ARE stupid. We can all agree there.

Absolutely, Wojitas. Those parents were stupid. We can all agree on that. Trust me about the divide. Bush's approval rating has been lower than any president in history. There are talks of the voting being rigged in the last few elections and still the popular vote has been too close too call. Most of us agree that American foreign policy tends to be a bit dogmatic, dogheaded, and plain dog stupid. Unfortunately, all we can do is vote and hope it has a chance of getting counted with our archaic electoral college system. The internet is the one place where we can jump borders and cross oceans to have real discussions. Can you honestly say that some of the Americans on this site aren't nice, well behaved people who value respect for everyone?

I know you have apologized and probably just want to drop this whole silly subject. Agreed. I'm shutting up now.

Doh i completely forgot to mention this, @ Ben, there is this awesome place near mt. Rushmore. It's a little wooden hut nothing special by itslef really, but the thing is, that gravity is f*cked up there :D. You walk up the stairs, you feel as running down a hill, you actually have to force yourself to slow down. You can't sit normally on a chair there or else you'll fall over. Best of all? Water goes north there :P. That's right, north and not any other way. But i guess these things happen when you build a house on a magnetically unstable terrain...

Puritanism and Political Correctness are known to all countries, not only USA. The problem is that it's the U.S people that turn to the media to profile even the most stupid arguements.. That's why you're stereotyped as idiots. You choose to advertise instead of letting to obscurity issues that would not come to rational thinkers, much more than the rest of the world. It's a perverted logic of the American dream, media coverage and fame through all means. Making huge turns around a problem is not going to solve it. If a kid starts shooting people it's going to be because loose gun laws and parent incompetence, not because nintendo created a harmless piece of plastic. It's just an excuse to shift the blame to someone else if shit happens. God, the Nes zapper is out for years, how is that any different. Because the graphics are more realistic now? It's still fake, kids arent that dumb as grownups wish them to be.

I want to see now NRA coming in defence of nintendo.

"You won't find Adobe here in Nairobi"

No i don't want to drop the subject, but it's 2 o'clock in the morning and i have to bet up at 9 today. What? Nice behaving americans? That's an oxymoron, just like smart bush, or naturally white Michael Jackson :P. Nah, jk. Night all.

@Wojtas: As someone from poland, I would think you would be a bit more sympathetic to the inaccuracies of nationality stereotyping

I am a Gauntlet Adventurer.

I strive to improve my living conditions by hoarding gold, food, and sometimes keys and potions. I love adventure, fighting, and particularly winning - especially when there's a prize at stake. I occasionally get lost inside buildings and can't find the exit. I need food badly. What Video Game Character Are You?

Hey, I'm American. My parents are stupid....grandparents too. I only managed to get Turok 1 and 2 when I was like 14 by tricking them into thinking it was a different kind of game. When they saw what it was they were all like "I never would have gotten that for you if I'd known that was what it was..." and I hid it whenever I wasn't playing it so they couldn't go backsies on me. And here I am at 22, and the only gun I ever touched I fired like twice, it was some crappy rifle and it was just target practice. I have to say, the crap in England about that Manchester church in Resistance...that was stupid too. But at least FPSs aren't consistently blamed for shootings there. As far as I know. Frankly I can't believe Halo (any of them) hasn't been blamed for something.

@Wojtas, so we American's are not normally nice. Wow. That is interesting.
On stereotyping, how many people live in your house? Only reason I ask is I wanted to know if you are able to change a light bulb on your own or need to have a few neighbors come over. I hate ignorance.

OT: Yeah, I hate it when parents blame kids behavior on games or movies, etc. I think too many parents are just lazy and don't parent. Read the label of the game/movie. Know the ratings. Make parental decisions. I know I would not let my 10 year old play Godfather or Manhunt. I, as an adult, reserve the right to play/watch anything I want.
