And the PS3 comparisons to dead systems continue. I don't think they'll end until MGS 4 or FF XIII gives it a nice bump worldwide.
The difference between PS3 and 360 now in Japan is about 700,000. This is with the 360's 1 year advantage and very few big Japanese games coming out on PS3.
That difference will rise significantly with big JRPG releases like Final Fantasy XIII or (To a lesser extent) MGS 4, White Knight Story and other games.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Seeing what crap gundam or HSG did to hardware sales, WKS will be a huge boost while FF will muder the competition.
hey before it was PS3 is dead MGS FF will come to late, inow its MGS FF are not that big... i wonder what the next one will be.

"Why do they call it the xbox 360? Because when you see it, you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away"

Hus,
MGS and FF will come to late. PS3 sales keep slipping... and will probably keep slipping until MGS and FF come out.
But by then it will probably be too late.

Slipping? Its been steady at 90-100k weekly since the price drop...I think a week ofter TGS the ps3 sales will jump to around 40k in japan, and stay around 30k in europe along with 50k in U.S until november.

The ps3 is still getting all the niche JRPGs that made the ps2 so big in Japan. First, Persona 4 was announced, then Disgaea 3, and now the next Steamboat Chronicles game. Star Ocean 4 was announced as a ps3 exclusive as well. Also, Eternal Sonata, one of the few 360 JRPGs, is also coming to the ps3.
Look how much games like Hot Shots Golf 5 and Gundam Musou spiked sales in Japan. When games like these start coming out at regular intervals, with the occasional White Knight Story and FFXIII in between, expect ps3 sales to rival the Wii's in Japan.
Wii sales are severley declining, I doubt there is any trouble in stock in japan, this is the time for sony to attack!!

Everybodys Golf is one of Sony's strongest properties in Japan, and typically sells in the 1.5 Million unit range in Japan alone; PS3 fans were saying for months before its release that it would cause PS3 sales to skyrocket and that it would (easily) sell more than 1 Million units before the end of 2007. Currently Everybodys golf 5 has sold 314,311 and sits at (approximately) 1/4 the sales of the worst selling Everybodys Golf game on the Playstation or PS2.
Gundam Musou was considered 'The most important PS3 game in Japan until Final Fantasy 13' by PS3 fans, analysts and reporters alike. The Combination of 2 Million selling games was considered a great way to ensure great sales success; Namco anticipated sales in the 1 Million unit range whilst Koei bosted that it could sell 2 Million units sold in Japan. Currently Gundam Musou sits at 283,698 units far below the expectations of the publisher.
The PS3 has a serious problem, regardless of what game is released it is far too expensive to buy the system for 1 game; Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo and Metal Gear will face the same problem. I'm not saying these games will flop but I would anticipate that their sales will fall far short of the PS2's versions of these games which could (potentially) force developers to focus development away from the PS3. You may not be willing to accept it but publishers have shareholders to keep happy who only care about profit and have little or no interest in ensuring the success of the PS3.
