I also fell into this trap. I loved Streets of L.A. and wouldn't buy New York because of all the terrible reviews. Then I was like "what do they know?" and bought it for like 20 something dollars. It's the only I game I regret buying.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl (i'm really sick of more of the same with slightly improved graphics and kind of new stuff, but then i realize that i can't stop now, i'm officialy a collector, i own every Pokemon main game and most of the other games)...

I also did the same with FFXI, but that worked out better.
