Pikachu isn't going to translate to some of the other games nearly as well. He just wouldn't quite work in Tennis, The olympics, Golf, soccer or so many of Mario's other sports.

Would be interesting to see him in a platformer though.

It has to be a character who made it big on the NES. Link would be best, since he's landed on every Nintendo platform since. Kirby would be a second choice.

I think it should have to be a girl. Nintendo is now more girl oriented. I think we have had enough macho-chauvinistic falocratic stuff from the italian plumber. If the USA had a black president maybe Nintendo can have a female mascot.
