GS: What's it been like working on the PlayStation 3 for the first time?

BF: For us, the most exciting part of the PS3 has been the cell processor, the SPUs specifically.In our highest density scenes right now, we are currently using about 30 percent of the SPUs' capabilities--with the SPUs doing lots of heavy lifting for us on rendering, visibility, particle systems, skinning, animation blending, and so on...this with scores of pedestrians, cars, fires, etc., all going on. And the best part? We've not made any significant attempts to even optimize the SPU code. I think it's reasonable to guess we could put 10 times as much stuff on the SPUs and still make our frame budgets. It's really pretty amazing.

People are going to eat you alive because the X% used statements hold little actual meaning.

the game looks amazing , I wonder why not a lot members here don't mention it when they talk about the "amazing-looking" games.

Remember kids, the PS3 is like Toguro, it have 120% of strength but only use parts of it, except in the very end...

LOL....Just w8 a few more minutes and trolls are gonna be here to call the dev(the one who developed the game) liers.

they are using only 2 spu + PPU like most studios.

Skipping over any current posts, or posts hereafter, I'l summarize:

"Don't listent to devs. They always say X game uses Y percent of the console. What you need to know is EVERY game uses 100 % of the power, it just depends on how they use their coding. There is no such thing as 'maxing out the system'. That's why GoWII is comparable to NBA 2002"

In that case, they should start using more. The last time I saw a video of inFamous with a lot of action in, the frame rate dropped pretty significantly.
