PS3 has outsold the Wii in Japan seven (make that at least eight weeks in a row with Advent Children BRD and FFXIII demo coming out this week).  The Wii's sales are under 15,000 in Japan this week and they have dropped significantly worldwide the last three weeks from what they were earlier in the year.

Worldwide sales are down for ps3 compared to last year, but up for the wii. THAT IS THE TRUTTH. Ofc the wii sales are down from January bc that was a holiday period? You are a troll.. They should perma ban you because all you do is bash the wii here. It's like you never play ur console...

Let's see:

first places Nintendo, then collection of mini games, then more nintendo mixed with plastic instruments games, one Lego title at 18th, then tons of shovelware or mini-games collection mixed with gamecube rereleases with only a few good games making it to 1M.

If I were publisher I'd send my best teams on developing stuff for PS3/X360/PC and rest to produce quick cash-in titles in Wii/DS.

That's not for years to come. In the mean time just put everything on the PS2 until the Wii catches up.

      By the time Final Fantasy Versus XIII (following Final Fantasy XIII and Gran Turismo 5 during holiday 2009 and other big PS3 games like Sigma 2 and Tales of Vesperia prior to then)   releases in Japan in the Summer 2010, there will be 8 to 10million Wii's sold in Japan, 7 million PS3s sold in Japan, and about 1.35 million 360s.  7 to 10 doesn't look quite so bad as 3 to 8, and the PS3 will actually be outperforming the PSP against the DS there by then.

I don't know the rest of you guys, but for me, this is somewhat what is actually going on. The result? The 360 and Ps3 are destroying each other while Nintendo keeps dominating and growing. Ps360 can have the old hardcore while Nintendo have the kids and everyone else. And not only that, they do have their best teams on their machine.

This is not a discussion about the games you/I prefer, otherwise I would have gave up, because I like oldschool hardcore games. This is a discussion about sales.

If the next generation PS3 and 360 stick to their traditional/actual market, that would mean MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction) and another generation of Nintendomination. But I predict that next gen every console would follow Nintendo's lead in terms of hardware and software. And that would be interesting to watch (I don`t know if worth playing) in terms of the business.

Because it's the thing they have left other than continuing the current disastrous path of the game industry where expenses are rising too fast.

     When the PS3 ratio to 360 stands at 5 to 1 in Japan, you will see many more Japanese games headed to the PS3 which will offset virtually similar lineups for the PS3 and 360 in the West leading to far less canabalism of each other's sales.
