i would like to see a 2d, platform style metroid again.
Yes...a 2D Metroid with 3D models. They need to get rid of scanning. Am I the only one who doesn't like this part of the game?

I liked Fusion and Zero Mission a lot, and I'd love to see more 2D Metroids, but I also loved all three Primes, and I'd love to see more 3D Metroids as well.  IMO there's no such thing as too much Metroid.  :)

You're not the only one who dislikes scanning, but I'm not the only one who likes it either.  It makes you an active participant in the story.

I remember seeing a few people on digg complain about how Metroid is "supposed to" be 2d, and how the whole franchise is ruined now. Not too many honestly, and they never have actual reasons better than "boo, I hate it".

No matter what is done, there will always be a few people who think the new situation is worse than the old. I think this is the very minimum amount of complainers possible.

vizunary: exactly, but on the Wii, cause i'll never own a DS, i don't even play my PSP enough =(

I know how that goes. We got in the new Daxter pack and PSPs, but I keep thinking about how the last time I used my Ds was as a Flashlight during a storm. That screen is bright.

On topic: I am still waiting for MP3, but it doesn't sound "ruined". There are probably plenty of other 2d franchises that have made worse transistions into modern gaming. Edit/addition: A new 2-d metroid could be a good idea for a VC Title.

As for pokemon, while plenty of people own both versions of the same game i doubt many people are buying both at launch but instead pick up the second after they've gotten through the first.

A metroid for ds and other one for wii... umm, intresting, but a 2d metroid on wii will cuase millions and milloins of sonyers or xboxers and say "wii is just a gc with a wiimote or wii is a old-gen console or wii graphics are for kids, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, but yes all metroid fan wants the famous rumored METROID DREAD.

But there is a thing i'm getting mad: in an interview of yahoo games to retro studios Mark Pacini said that they are gonna leave metroid until PROBABLY NEXT-GEN

Metroid fans are the most volatile. They see a flaw and complain about it, and then when the next game comes and fixes those flaws, they complain more about other little things and expect the company to create a perfect game each time.

IMO the Prime games where one of the best games to go 3D ... nobody complained ... n( and this is a Sony fan speaking ... ) .

I think Zelda fans are worse.  They can't enjoy TP or WW because they aren't Ocarina.

WW pwns ocarina. TP is also better than Oot, but as i was only just into gaming when i played Oot it seemed a lot better.
