Great news for the Sony PS3!!!!!

This has nothing to do with the PS3

yeah but it's helping to push the format

Yea true but at the same time it's one less reason to get a PS3, since it's one of their main targets for selling it.

what do you mean, if people wanted ps3 for blu-ray players, their stupid because they have blu-ray players for like 200 dollars

You should be beaten, burned to ashes then someone should throw your ashes from a plane

wasnt part of the huge r&d cost for the ps3 to do with br and if so, doesnt that compliment and recover monies spent on the tech for sony?

^ broken avi , plz upload another one

My dad is a whore when it comes to buying movies.

We have over 400 DVD's and we haven't even watched like 100 of them.

We just bought a PS3 for Christmas and he already bought 20 Blu ray movies :\.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2

Way to go Sony & Blu-ray. This is great news, I'm glad to see that the adoption of Blu-ray is increasing, I have done my part thats for sure.

Nice to see Blu Ray doing so well with the bad economy

Anyone know what the DVD numbers were?

lmao I know a few people like that. I buy alot of movies but I watch the one I bought before I buy another one. Makes a little more sense that way lol.

FootballFan - "GT has never been bigger than Halo. Now do a comparison between the two attach ratios and watch GT get stomped by Halo. Reach will sell 5 million more than GT5. Quote me on it."

blu-ray adoption will NEVER be equal to DVD.

both will survive but dvd won't be going away for the next decade.

blu-ray is still a niche product. 10% of the market

DVD for a decade?   Not a chance in hell.  Sure people will still own DVDs (Just like they own records and VHS tapes).   They certainly won't be selling in stores 10 years from now.

Not too sure about that. Developing countries will still be using it
