Halo Wars was launched in March, whereas Killzone 2 was launched in February (and saw the majority of its sales in the first few weeks).

If you add the Killzone 2 February NPD sales figures (323,000) to this month, then technically the OP's title is right.  If it's more the assumptions made in the analysis of this being unexpected then I'd probably agree with you being right to a degree.

Sorry I'm posting so much tonight guys, staying up for the F1 practice soon :)

I actually don't really care. I just want to show that it's not that big of a gap. As far as I'm concerned, this is just a trolling thread.

Fair enough, I just didn't understand if you meant his figures were wrong or his analysis bad.  Not bad I was wrong on both counts in my assumptions

@Prophecy, you got us!

Launched in different months, lets not create a controversy where there shouldn't be one.

well i think that the game quality does not always reflect into sales, because if this was true killzone 2 would have sold at least 3 million copies and halo wars.....

Use power for the right things. At least for the things that you believe in.

It's a shame some posters cannot get over their bias for one thread and just say well done. Halo in the title or not, this has to be close to the fastest selling RTS on any console previously (I've not checked figures so will not claim it is). Maybe the sales relative to Killzone 2 aren't as impressive as the OP states when you consider userbase but on their own merits these sales are fantastic.

100% agree. Stop arguing guys both games are good and both are selling well. Lets leave it at that

Long Live SHIO!

Wow thats strange...sony fanboys are talking about install bases now to back up their point, in my argument of halo being more popular than GT install bases didn't have anything to do with halo sales vs. GT sales. Amazing how people can change their view points so damn fast.

OT: I have to say that i actually agree with Halo Wars selling so much because of the halo name, just like GT5: Prologue sold so many because of the name(and because its basically a full game with a budget price)

But thats no excuse for the most hyped sony game this years at least selling such low numbers. In truth i have no idea why its not selling that great, i would've bought it if i had a PS3

I do the same exact thing.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

There is what an 8 million sales lead in America? So a game that has HALO in its name sells 300K more in a territory with 8 million more consoles sold......that's just devastating. Sony had better just throw in the towel. RTS or not, its a Halo game. People will buy it because of the setting alone. America is the 360s saving grace. Without our blind spending practices, the 360 would be doing horribly considering its launch lead.

Looking at your VGChartz money it's not hard to figure out you're hardly the most trustworthy source for data analysis.

I have a little challenge if you want to accept it.  Find me the biggest selling RTS on the PS2 (a console with considerably more userbase than the 360), I'd be interested to know how this compares sales wise right now and of course in the future.  A RTS game selling this fast is impressive, just give it some credit and stop being bitter.

I was banned because a bunch of idiots thought I was racist. Not that its hard to get banned from here. You do however miss the point. Its not just an RTS, It is a HALO rts. Big difference when you are talking about the game thats sells millions everytime and isnt very good. It became a hit with the first and has been riding its coat tales on name recognition since.
