Yes but i agree that it's controversial.
People who bring up examples like solitaire are just being stupid. Solitaire has no influence on people's decision to purchase a PC. It's not like they are going to choose a Mac because the pack in games are better (have no idea what they are on the Mac).
Wii sports is kind of a unique situation. Alot of people bought the Wii, at least initially, just for Wii Sports. In essence, it sold the Wii, not the other way around.
People have previously brought up examples like Mario Bros 3 and the like but my understanding is that many of the top selling games have been packed in at some point. Finding sales information of a games that were part of pack in deals is very hard.
So if we could absolutely narrow down which game sold the most and was never sold as part of a pack then we could declare that the winner, but practically this is very hard to do.

Wow how can you not count Wii Sports, but it's okay to count Super Mario Bros & Duck Hunt ect.? Wii Play is a more understandable target for this argument, but Wii Sports deserves the top spot if it reaches it. Being a bundled game doesn't change the fact that it's an integral part of the Wii's success.
