Spiders' previously thought PlayStation and PC game has been officially announced for the Xbox 360.
We revealed the action RPG last month, with only the PlayStation 3 and PC mentioned as the game's available platforms.
We presumed the sci-fi game might come to the Xbox 360, but when Spiders' CEO Jehanne Rousseau explained that the PlayStation 3 was their lead platform, since its development was based on Sony's Phyre Engine, an Xbox version seemed unlikely.
"The PS3 is a very interesting platform, with a huge potential, even if it isn't very easy to access. There are very few RPGs on this console, and we really think that the fans are waiting for some good games in this genre on PS3," Rousseau told PS3Center.
"That’s why we decided to take it as our primary platform. The PC came with it when we chose the engine. We decided to use the Phyre Engine from Sony, and the engine works cross platform with the PC. The PS3 is our reference, and the PC follows. First and foremost, we want Mars to be a great PS3 game."
We presume none of this has changed, but simply that Sony's Phyre engine can also run on the Xbox 360...
Spiders' press release states that Mars will be released at the end of 2010 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. You can read more about the game by reading our previous story.
