Forums - Nintendo - New screens for Wii horror title: The Feel.

AQ Interactive showed off the first screenshots for their upcoming Wii horror gameThe Feel, at a recent press conference in Japan. The game still needs some polishing to get rid of the nasty jaggies, but the Ju-on atmosphere seems there. Well, the creepy little ghost kid's there, at least.

The Feel is being made in collaboration with Japanese horror director Takashi Shimizu. From what I could gather in the Google translations, it's a part of the director's famous Ju-on film series. Anybody who saw those would recognize the themes in the screenshots below. It's currently slated for a Summer release in Japan.

Pictures here.

I wonder how wide a release this game will get.

It seems that both Nintendo and third parties have been reluctant to release games of this type (or ones related to it) outside Japan.

Far more interested in Namco's Fragile than Tecmo's/Nintendo's Fatal Frame IV.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

looks like the grudge

I'm more interested in Silent Hill, but first-person Wiimote-based horror from the director of the good version of The Grudge sounds like win.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

Hate to say it but after looking at Silent Hill these shots look like crap. Still, I enjoy these types of games, especially on Wii, so I'll be interested in it, IF it ever leaves Japan.

Well, his films are scary, that's for sure.
I hope this gets released outside Japan. Don't think so though.

Improvements are caused by people who complain

Have you seen the screen shots from Silent Hill? Compare the lighting effect from the flashlight shining on the fence in Silent Hill compared to The Feel.    Silent Hill's lighting engine is far superior as are the details on the environments.

However, to be fair if The Feel is going to be Japan only, which is likely, then this is as good as you could possibly expect.

Horror titles are the new "in" genre for the Wii now, eh?
