4 DVD's

This.

Lost Odyssey has about 15 hours of cinematics. It came on 4 discs.

I doubt this game being the same size as Lost Odyssey.

There is such an obvious difference in quality of the two titles.

I would be surprised if it was only 4 discs.

I hope you mean graphically. :)

I understand that FF13 will have more graphics. It's 2 years between them. But Lost Odyssey had far more cinematics than previous FF games. It's cinematics that take the room in Jrpg's. So I think it will be similar in size of game.

As for quality of game. FF13 has alot to stand up to to beat LO. Considering where I rank LO. :)

Well considering where the rest of the world ranks LO I would say it doesn't have too much to stand up to. Final Fantasy has been a AAA franchise while LO isn't.

I would also doubt seeing FFXIII with LO's god awful load times.

@V-r0ck

Those 5GB most likely include the VXIII trailer does it not?

Sure some of that 5gb contained the VXIII trailer... but lets just assume SE also adds that much cinematics lol

Indeed they will. Final Fantasy games have always had plenty of CGI. I see this game easily being 50-60GB+.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

According to that article, ratio wise of 5gb for 1hr of gameplay, then we can say roughly 1 DL DVD = 1.5hrs of gaming yes? ...roughly how long will this game be? if its roughly 10-20hrs maybe 7-14 DL DVDs? (assuming SE doesnt have some kind of compressing)

you obviously like it rough :]

LOLLLL i didnt realize that...i should really re-read my post lol.  and i dont like it rough..its just the way i give it ;]

i find that hard to believe >.>;

;).

It's odd though. Media reviews aside, the actual people who have complaeted LO and all the FF's would definately have a different outlook than the media. Almost all posts on forums from people who have finished LO put it highly in Jrpg's. I'd say 80-90% hold LO in high rank. Then again people who have actually played FF1 - 12 on forums often will tell you that not all FF games are AAA ) Probably 40%. But the media reviews would make you believe otherwise. I think some of it has to do with getting older to. When I was 16 FF's cliche's of school boys and CGI was enough to impress. Now I'm not so impressed. Maybe thats why so many players say FF12 was horrible? One of the best things about LO was it's maturity. Not only in gameplay, but in life lessons. I guess I'm growing up. :)

yeah the trailer was on HD , and it was little long . so that also take alot of space. maybe 40 MB

If I am not mistaken 4.5gb of that are taken by FMVs. So .. they'll be compressed and everything is fine.

Every FF isn't AAA i'll give you that, but they are without a doubt very quality titles.

Lost Odyssey was good but it lost me around the start of the 4th disc. I felt the story just died off, it became stale and boring.

Yeah people will say the dream sequences had great writing and such, but Kaim was so boring of a character that I didn't want to waste 10minutes of my life reading about what he did 1000 years ago with some chick, or some child he met, etc...

I just wanted to get going with the game.

Be sure to grab Vesperia when it releases in EU.

Yes Tales Of Vesperia is taking to bloody long to arrive here. :(

I thought Kaims character was fine. However Tolten sucked arse. Jansen though has to be the best character in any Jrpg. His scripting was nigh on perfect.

Also With that said about FF, I will be buying FF13 day one. Why? Because I will not know how much I like it until I play through it. Thatrs unfortunately the reality of Jrpg's. One cannot judge until one has played it themselves. :)

either the 360 version comes on like 20 discs, or they're losing quality through compression somewhere..neither sounds logical as they would hardly make any money off the game if it came with 20 discs, and they've spent as long as they have - in my theory - to make sure there isn't any major loss of quality for 360. We'll just have to wait and see. I don't think the 100gb comment is true..a 100gb game will never come to 360 - it's just not logical.
