Brilliant reasoning. It's all so obvious now.
Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Ooh, come'on, the library of the atari is nothing compared to the NES... That's also the reason why Nintendo is still in the console business while atari isn't... U just hate Nintendo lol... You make it sound like it's easy to make gaming popular again... You make it sound like it's easy and 0 risico for Nintendo to make the NES. You sir, are an epic fail. |
What are you saying that the 10 games that Nintendo has used to sell systems from NES until today are better than the hundreds of games that made their first appearance on the 2600? I really don't think so. How old were you in 1984 and when did you get your first game system? The NES' game lineup was awful compared to the 2600's and it was awful compared to the PC adventure games from Sierra On-Line and Lucas Arts that were coming out in its lifetime too.
If Metacritic had been around in Atari's days it would have as many games in the worthy of purchase category as the PS2 does while the NES wouldn't have half that number.
Heavens to Murgatoids.
100's probably about all it had worth playing. Much more than the Wii. But no where near the 2600. And some of those in the video like Pirates and Maniac Mansion were much better (better graphics, etc) on pcs.

Lol, why bring the wii in this discussion? You just proved yourself that you're a nintendo hater and keep on trolling everything Nintendo related. The NES had a bigger gaming library then the atari 2600.
A lot of franchises that are now legendary started on the NES. Tell me one game that became legendary that started on the atari 2600?

Look, I understand liking the 2600 better, that's fine, but trolling the greatest pillar of the Second Age of video game design is absurd. Even ignoring the Wii trolling, this conversation is getting ridiculous fast.

Do you know how many of those games started in the Arcade? Let me bold the important part of that question for you again.

I only had to name one. Others: Keystone Kapers, River Raid, Megalomania, Star Raiders, Adventure, and Yar's Revenge.
And of those that started in the arcades, you couldn't play any of them at home before they were on the 2600.

It was called Keystone Kapers. Best platformer on the 2600, but still doesn't even come close to something like Super Mario Bros.
I haven't heard of any of those others. Didn't he ask you to name legendary games?
