I don't know about that. You've got on one hand: - God of War 1, Selling 3.21 in 2005 on a system that had a much greater install base. BUT by that stage had already been cracked and pirating was becoming a big issue On the other you've got: - God of War 3, in 2009 (hopefully) on a system with a much smaller install base BUT without any pirating, in a generation that has seen most sequels selling less than their last generation brothers. Tough call really. I'm going to say it'll sell about the same (pirating is a big factor after all). As for 1080p 60fps? dreaming, unless you want there to be a small number of polygons/textures on screen and extremely small scale areas (given what we saw in GoW2, I hope not). Let's not overhype this number, even if it's from the developer (remember, we've been burned by empty promises before), or else all hell will break loose when the internet is set a light with news that retail copies are only running native 720p and 30fps (still excellent). One things for sure, as long as they don't mess it up, GoW3 will definitely surpass Killzone 2 for me as an overall package. I've since given up on caring about graphics, given that it now no longer impacts gameplay since we've jumped to HD and the difference between KZ2, Resistance 2, Halo 3 and CoD4 is nothing in that regard. The one thing no one can seem to get right consistently is excellent character models. |
I'm pretty sure it'll run in 60fps. It won't be native 1080p, more likely native 720p, but upscaled to 1080i/p.
I know that I will prefer God of War III to Killzone 2. KZ2 may be an excellent game, but a God of War it's not. GoW is probably my favourite series.
