Forums - Gaming - MS: 360 has won in the US, PS3 battle over

As far as the battle for second place goes, he's correct. The PS3 isn't catching the 360 in North America. Likewise the 360 isn't going to catch the PS3 in Japan. The overall war has already been decided by the Wii. The HD consoles are only duking it out for second place.

dood..there is no use as it's evident 360 can't continue the battle that is ahead...so it's over for the 360...in less than two years span ps3 has shipped 8.1 million consoles in America alone ...it's one year behind 360's launch and thus 8 million behind 360 in shipping no's. With this situation we can say 360 is just dominating for the while still it's known fact that ps3 is future..a winner in the long run...
Wait and C!!

Good, that means they won't interfere when the PS3 cuts its price.

Lets take a massive turnaround as a scenario... so starting tomorrow:

The 360 average weekly sales are cut in HALF to say 48k

And the PS3 average weekly sales DOUBLE to say 120k

Then it will still take 121 weeks to catch the 360.... thats August 2011

So August 2011... mark it in your diary.

Oh... but wait... neither of the changes I mention seem in any way remotely likely... scrub that.

Post = win.

With that attitude it's far from over. With a better attitude I'd say MS is right for once.

That can definetly happen, but only in a dream, LOL

I like that attitude, it shows confidence.

Microsoft needs to do more of this, not less.

3 years in and its already over? Does that mean that Sony can claim victory in Japan?

probably, but they could have done that before this generation even started... Microsoft never had any hope in Japan.

yeh well ps3 has won japan. so europe is the battleground now? but what if the 360 (america) invades ps3's land (japan)!

lmao its world war 2 but console style!

This reminds me of The Empire = Microsoft, Sony = The Rebellion.
The Empire may have won now but the rebellion will make a return! :P

Um, shouldn't it be the other way around.

Well, PS2 was the empire last generation, and now the 360 is emerging.

The PS3 looks like darth vader (big and covered in armour with a glossy black finish). It also fits in with the story of Anakin, he wore white robes when he was on the "light side" (PS1) and then as he became more evil he wore darker clothes (Black, but not glossy, Black, PS2) and finally came to the glossy black armour (PS3).

The 360 looks like Yoda (Smaller and covered in white, Yoda is green and the 360 on light is green and they both die.)

I think Soul Calibur IV backs up my argument here.

And finally, when the PS3 price cut occurs, the "empire" will strike back.

On topic: Though I don't think MS should say it out loud (I mean, Nintendo is a game company afterall) but they have bet Sony in the USA (I don't see the lead getting caught upto, or at least if it does, it won't matter anymore).

You sir deserve a standing ovation. That was a brilliant analysis. *applauds*
