Forums - Sales - PS3, 360, End Of 2011?

It's all about the games and a little about the arrival of the 720. PS3 and 360 getting about the same games in the West gives neither console an advantage. PS3 taking off in Japan and as a result getting many more exclusives from Hideo Kojima, Square, Sega, and niche jrpg developers gives an advantage to PS3.

Things are going to become more apparent to more people about the Wii in its run towards its second 100,00,000 that will keep it from reaching 100,000,000 as fast as 50,000,000 (but I'm not factoring in a Wii pricecut into that figure of 75 mill either).

I would say X360 will have a smaller lead than 20 million though. I guess it will be around 10 million sales lead for X360 over PS3 by end of 2011. Further price cuts of X360 on Arcade , Pro and Elite models, introduction of Wi-Fi in X360s. Slimline X360 will arrive before the end of 2010.

Lol @ people claiming PS3 will be in front of X360 by end of 2011. One person in this thread put a 10 million PS3 lead over X360 by end of 2011. Dream on.

PS3 fans rejoice: "PS3 has a ten year plan" - No need to drop the prices significantly that would cut short its lifespan.

 My End of 2011 predictions: X360 sales ~ 60 million. PS3 ~ 50 million.  Wii ~ 110 million

The 720 will probably be released in November of 2010 for about $500.00. 360 sales will likely follow a similar trajectory to those of the original xbox after the 360 was released. No news of any big games for the 360 is probably a sign of hushed development being done on 720.

Heavens to Murgatoids.

and people say sony fans are annoying!!

Being a cricket fan is much simpler and more fun

No less delusional than most of the sony fanboys here. I expect that the gap will remain relatively the same unless Microsoft beats Sony's holiday number... and if it's beating like this year... well... we saw what a strategic price drop can do for a console though it'll be on a much lower scale for the PS3. Also I remember Sony fanboys on this site last year talking worse shit than this guy... Some of you fools even though Sony was going to break ahead of Microsoft this quarter and that's not even taking into account the fools who thought they would do that at the end of last year. So let the dreamers dream and laugh at them, but remember that if you made one of the stupid predictions it can come back to kick you in the rear... much like his little post will certainly do to him.

This 30% tracking does not take account that the 360 was released several months ahead of the PS3. Not does it take into account that the PS3 price cut has yet to come.

360 has played its trump cards in terms of price. All that is left is to virtually gave them away for free. I suspect the next generation wont happen until 2013. By then I expect PS3 to have a lead over XBox but not a significant one.

They haven't even droped the system to 45nm much less combined the CPU and GPU... hell even the daughter chip is still seperate fromt he GPU.  They have lots of room to lower the price.  This isn't even taking into account a redesign of their Arcade model(360Slim?) wich would fit in perfectly with their plans.  A complete switch to solid state  would allow them to put a decent amount of memory on the Arcade at almost no cost to them.  Like I said in my last post... dreaming doesn't make it real.

Shane Kim said if the PS3 was around for 10 years the 360 would be around for 10 year and 1 day.  I don't think these two systems will be bowing out when the next systems come out.

BTFeather55 another low post made in the same thread. You try and fail to justify your outrageous claims in your latest post. So you are telling the 30 million of us X360 owners: "We have wasted our money on buying a X360"

You also say: "There are no new games coming to X360 and X720 is being released in 2010"

You fail dude.

I think the gap will be a lot narrower but I still think the 360 will have a slight lead a 8 million gap is not easily closed and even with price cuts the 360 will always be cheaper.

I don't see why certain people get so wound up about a prediction that the PS3 will eventually outsell the 360. The PS3 has gone toe to toe with the 360 since the PS3 launched at a much greater price. Obviously a significant price drop will be a huge boost to the PS3. Its not rocket science. More and more people will be tempted by free online gaming too as they grow weary of playing their annual subscription.
