Basically one. They had a tiny intermediate one to clear out old stock before the new models with bigger hard drives, but that's about it. That was a single $100 cut after 2 years. How many cuts has Sony had and how much did it cut off? 2? 3? $200 you say?

Was gonna say the same thing. Always funny to see PS3 fans talking about 360s recent price cut even though the PS3 has cut its price by $200 and it was still losing money.
The difference is 360s price cuts were placed so that they will still make a profit while PS3s price cut was to increase its abymsal sales while losing money. LMAO!!

I disagree, every console is up in sales except the ds(due to the dsi launch last week). Its far from a standard week, this is good the video game market is very healthy compared to other markets in this economic "crysis". |
I agree, even "serious" newspapers and magazines noticed it.

No. Using my logic, they had like 5 because they kept switching to new SKU's while keeping prices the same, but they were technically getting a price drop because the new SKU had more than the original for cheaper. Regardless, the PS3 had 2 FULL price cuts of $100 each to get their 80GB model down to $400. The 360 only had one price cut to clear out the old stock before introducing the new stuff at the new official price cut to $300/200.
Maybe he was saying that its still that much above 360 yet its still not that far off matching the 360s Hardware numbers.
