Forums - Nintendo - Wii Tekken: an Idea for gameplay

Rainbird said:
Well, as everyone said, you didn't really describe a Tekken game. I'd like it for another fighting game, maybe a new IP, but not Tekken.

Also, you would not seriously have Miis as the audience for a TEKKEN fight? Seriously...

Yeah, I don't think the ideas are bad, but it's not Tekken.

I'm still skeptical of a Tekken game functioning well on the Wii, but I would love to be proven wrong. Show me otherwise, Namco!

Please play Tekken before you make a suggestion... :P
Tekken uses 4 buttons.. left kick, left punch, right punch and right kick.... by removing the left and right it's not Tekken anymore...

instead "bat bitched slapped"

You should be beaten, burned to ashes then someone should throw your ashes from a plane

Did namco bandi annouce that Tekken was coming to the wii? If not and this is just a "fantasy" set up of what could be a Tekken game....then please continue. In my opinion it would be a little hard to justify such a hardcore game coming to the most casual of consoles this generation. It could happen, but it is more likely a action adventure game set in the Tekken universe. Maybe you save nina from that bold dude and it is like a 4 person co-op game beating up robots or ninja or something. Obviously their would be no online component and just local multiplayer for a title like this, but this would be most likely the case....don't any of you agree?

troll thread!!!!!!! street fighter rocks (runs away)

I can kick your ass with Eddy Gordo with my never-ending combo on Tag Tournament - which is the best Tekken for me. My middle name is Tekken.

And the control scheme would work right with auto shifting from left and right punches and kicks.

Pro Evolution Soccer on the Wii its not the same that it was some years agor. But its a control scheme that sh!ts all over PS360 control scheme which, guess what, is exactly the same we had in PSone era.

People it's the WII! Last time I checked it was a console with a revolutionary pad and also the market leader.

Everything on it shall change.

If Capcom guys were close minded as you today we should not have RE4 or RE5. They don't have the tank controls so it is no Resident Evil.

Street Fighter 4 it's not street fighter due to it's 3D graphics!!!

Things EVOLVE!!!!!!!!!!

Button mashing is among us for 2 decades already, aren't you thirsty for a change in fighting games??????

"Left punch, right kick, miewww, miewww, miewww"

But why use Tekken? Just make it a new IP for gods sake.

^ Now everything on the Wii has to be new IP's just because of the new controls???

If everyone was like you you couldn't have traditional IP's on the Wii like RE4 and EA titles, and whatever.

Tekken is already an established IP and would be good with overhaulled controls. Also the new tekken 6 will give players a little deja-vu sensation because it is a PSone gameplay game with shinny new graphics. Good for fans like me but not so good for other players who have other good fighters to choose from...

If you ask me, a game like Resident Evil 4 shouldn't have been a Resident Evil game. There isn't much reason for why it shouldn't have been a new IP, apart from Capcom wanting sales from the name recognition. Many fans are still unhappy about the lack of horror in recent Resident Evil games, so why not just have made the "new" Resident Evil games an IP of their own?

I think it's awesome that Modern Warfare 2 is no longer a Call of Duty game. They are shedding the WWII roots, and going for a new series of games (and I pray that Treyarch get to stay with the Call of Duty name, and not follow Infinity Ward). It also means we don't get as many iterations of the same game.

I would much rather see more new IPs than just rehashes of old games. Let the old games stay what they are, and bring new and refreshing things.

Fighting games is a bit of an oddball though, because they are made primarily for the arcades, and don't rely on story, but I would much rather see new IPs in that genre as well, than just old names on new games.
