When I see that a user is banned, I'd like that the "Banned" text links to a short text describing why and for how long the user was banned and/or the offending posts.

I brought it up earlier because I agree completely. Show the community examples of how not to act. More importantly, give the moderators some credibility, when someone complains that the staff is biased, you can show them the public record and they'll see exactly why someone was banned.

Yeah, ok. The next time I ban somebody, I'll make a locked thread to put names and explanations of why they have been banned.

By the way, why was leo-j banned? I miss the Sony  obsessed freak

He got a temporary ban. I don't know why; I was not the one who banned him. Someone else apparently was moderator for once...

Do the mods have weekly meetings to discuss offending members? Is there a thread or forum open only to mods to discuss hot issues? Seems a lot of the contention between mods is being voiced publicly lately.

We PM each other back and forth when needed, but one mod's decision is considered final, or at least I'll respect another mod's decision if it's reasonable.

I don't really know why leo-j was banned, but I know he had acted up numerous times recently, a temporary ban does not surprise me. I will unban him soon, not immediately though.

I don't think anyone questions the banning of Leo-J. There is one thread that is banworthy in and of itself regarding Warhawk reviews. All in all I think the site could use more bannings, but I think that only precipitates new accounts and speculations as to which new user the banned party is. I'm not sure if there needs to be a sanctioned public display as to why someone was banned. Most of us either see it coming, or can check post history to see what mistake the user made. I have never seen anyone get banned here that didn't deserve it and i don't think the mods should be required to explain their rationale using specific posts or threads.

I don't think they should have to explain themselves either, but the mods are constantly under attack for being "biased".  I think explanations would be helpful in curbing this notion.
