I don't know if anybody noticed, but there are three major sales milestones upcoming, one for each of the current gen consoles.

1. Playstation 3 is currently at 21,567,851 and it is about to pass the Nintendo GameCube which is at 21,590,000

2. Xbox 360 is currently at 29,632,291 and it is about to pass the Atari 2600 which is at 30,000,000 accoring to Wikipedia.

3. Nintendo Wii is currently at 48,790,766 and it is about to pass the SNES as you all know which is at 49,080,000.

Pretty good shit right there. About time the PS3 passed GameCube. 360 doing nicely. And the Wii's next challenge will be the NES at 61 million.

That's a pitiful milestone to achieve. I'm pretty sure Playstation fans would rather forget that and wait for something more dramatic and meaningful.

I highly doubt anyone would have guessed these were the milestones we would be talking about in year 3-4 for the 3 consoles.

With the rise in population, this was also expected.
