Forums - Nintendo - Lufia for Wii Online Petition

Hello guys.

I started an online petition to bring the lufia Series to the Nintendo Wii. All games appeared on Nintendo Platforms: Snes, Game Boy and Game Boy Advanced. And I think it's time for a new entry of the series... I haven's heard any news appart from an interview held in april this year

Quote:
C3: Also, after the Lufia team has finished working on Rune Factory, are there any plans to resurrect the Lufia series, perhaps on DS or Wii?

GM: Nothing has been discussed. Neverland, the company that developed Lufia is also the same company that developed CIMA: The Enemy. Hopefully the next project we work on is a follow up to that series.

I think the series should revive on Wii, don't you think?

What aspect of Lufia do you think should revive in particular?   Story?  Characters?  Battle system?  Name only?

Lufia 2:  Rise of the Sinistrals was arguably one of the best RPGs on the Super Nintendo however the rest of the Lufia games, while not bad, were not the best of the proverbial bunch.

To revive this series on the Wii would not be so much of a revival as a complete overhaul.  With the exception of the background storylines, it would be as though one were creating a brand new series, and unless there was an easily exploitable plothook in the Lufia universe besides "uh oh they're back..." it would be about the same.

Would it be pleasantly nostalgic?  Yes.

Is there money to be made by reusing the Lufia name?  Yes.

While I wouldn't mind a new Lufia, I bet it wouldn't be quite what some of those who played the original Estopolis games have in mind.

I think we'd get a Lufia on DS before Wii. But I'll take what I can get if it means a new entry in this series.

But every game in the series is pretty much an "overhaul" when compared back in forth between each one. Outside of the storyline, recurring characters, and staple gameplay elements. Lufia was pretty basic in the gameplay department for an RPG but Lufia II really ramped it up, throwing in ingenious puzzle elements to the dungeons and modernizing, and arguably perfecting the turn based battle system. The Legend Returns for the GBC severely toned down the puzzle elements and field actions in favor of randomized dungeon layouts and countless hidden rooms with treasures, and 9-character battle parties with the formation and IP rules. Ruins of Lore for the GBA went back to the Lufia II style but made the monster breeding a much larger part of the battles and added a class system for the main characters.

Basically, Lufia changes itself up every chance it gets.

Is true that the series is about the Sinistrals and the Dual Blade. But there is so much room to add new gameplay. There's no limitation for the timeline and design. the combat system can improve, the graphics, etc... Of course it needs an overhaul like any series.

The developers have the freedom to make this game in any way they want. As long as the core remains to make it feel like a Lufia game

Signed it too... RPGs are a must!
