I have been studying the past charts since the start of the year, what charts? Im talking about online retail charts.
Daily updates/hourly updates which ever, the playstation 3, nintendo wii, and xbox 360 sales trends for North america.
Since the start of february I have been noticing a shift in sales, or position on sales charts in North America, specifically the Gamestop's best sellers list, the playstation 3 being FAR BEHIND, but dialy would gain a higher position or what not.
Now what I have been seeing since middle-late March, the XBOX 360 has been dropping in position on these sales charts, on a rapid pace might I add, now my studies have been reflected on vgcharts' sales numbers for the North American market.
I am using both Amazon data, and Gamestop data, the wii's position has also been slipping, but not at a rapid pace, may be a minor fluctiation.
These studies are starting to reflect with the weekly sales numbers on vgchartz, and I would not be suprised to see the ps3 ahead of the xbox 360 in the North American market next week.
Take my analyzes with a grain of salt.. though I do expect the MARCH NPD numbers to be somewhat close if not just a little bit less gap wise between the PS3 and XBOX 360, and April shouldnt be too different, but it may surpise us.
