@TheProf: That's really interesting quote. But it fails in the way that there's no term "Wii user" that could mean the whole installbase. Since it's supposed to be a family console, it's supposed to have 3 users in a family of 3, or four in a family of four etc. The userbase is just so diverse.
Only Nintendo have managed to reach majority of Wii owners and that is by bundling Wii Sports.

I would have expected that 2008 would have gone to the Wii in that department due to Wii Fit, Brawl, Kart, etc...

Wii's weakest region is Japan, where also Wii Sports is not bundled, and counted in Media Create / Famitsu reports. Yet Japan > EU + US?

Ok it was a thread based on vgchartz numbers taking the total HW sales and total software sales. How do you know they didn't do the same thing? I didn't see anything regarding what source they used.

I was backing you up. Wii Sports is tracked in Japan, since it isn't bundled. Thus that would be the only part of total Wii Sports sales that would contribute to the attach ratio.

Nothing was ever mentioned as to Japan > EU + US or not.

It's quite possible GFK or ChartTrack does indeed count Wii Sports sales. I only made my statement on the basis that the 3 do not. I know NPD doesn't for sure, or we'd have had the same #1 title for the last 29 months. BORING!
