Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Fire Emblem is a difficult series, I don't know if you guys have heard

God Radiant Dawn is hard. Path of Radiance was just ridiculously easy compared to it.

I'm only using 7 units now. Gonna try to get Ike's Memory scene and Lehran.

That's not gonna be easy though.

Don't worry, the game is easy on easy. You are playing on easy, right?

No, I'm playing on Normal.

Still, Luna was incredibly useful.

You are hardcore. You really wanted to get that gamer's badge back, didn't you?

I missed it dearly.

I thought you already beat RD on hard before?

But yes, PoR is one of the easier games in the series. Only Sacred Stones is easier due to the possibility of grinding between chapters. RD is brutal at times, just like most games of the franchise.

I have played it on Hard before yeah, but that's nearly a year ago. And I didn't actually play all the time, I played together with my sister (who hates games, but is awesome at Fire Emblem).

Fire Emblem really is a game that is far easier when you're 2 than 1.

As for why I never got Ike's memory scene before, I played in a messed up way.

First, Normal up untill Endgame (part 4). But my team was so messed up that I couldn't finish it.

Second, I played Easy untill Endgame (part 4), but I realized it would be too easy, so I'd rather go back and finish it on Normal.

But I couldn't finish it on Normal, so I got my friend to finish it on easy, so I could play Hard (it isn't like the inscription says, that you have to finish it on Normal - easy works)

Then I played it on Hard. I didn't continue on the save file though, so it didn't count as a "2nd playthrough".

Now I'm playing on the continuation of the first Hard one.

(Yes, I've played this game a lot, but I've been playing with a different friend/family each time.

Tecnically, I have never played the endgame.

PoR is the easiest game in the series, by far. You can make the other easier by Arena Abuse and grinding like hell, but most people don't do that (do they? Do they?)

Edit: I didn't really answer the question. Yes - I have finished RD on Hard before, and it was incredibly hard then too. After playing PoR on Hard, I just had a messed up feeling of what hard is.

Guys what is the hardest Fire Emblem, I gotta know.

I know this one can't be the hardest, because it has Hector, and Hector is an army-killer.

Radiant Dawn.  Especially if you don't use a Path of Radiance save.

YOU WEREN'T JUST WHISTLING DIXIE

Triple post in my own thread? How sad. Yet I will do it - if no more conversation is to be sparked, then this topic shall die a good death.

Man it's less active in here since Oyvoyvoyv left.

Anyway. Radiant Dawn.

So I'm on chapter - I think it's 6? Should be 6. The Daein soldiers, Jill and her crew, have joined up, and we are working our way to the other side of a valley with unscalable walls on either side. Enemy reinforcements are coming in constantly. Most of them are pegasus knights.

I have three mages. Micaiah and Ilyanna can survive one attack - one - but Laura is so slow that she's double-attacked and dies every time. The worst part is that many of these pegasus knights are carrying Javelins, so they can hit across a defensive line that doesn't have an empty space behind it. And they come from both sides of the canyon, so I can't just have Laura stand behind Tauroneo or something. When more than one of them shows up and are outside of killing range, I've started to have Tauroneo rescue her so she can't be attacked unless he is killed (which will not happen).

This mission is making me reconsider the accepted logic of the games. I try to go through without using prepromotoes like Tauroneo and Volug and Sothe, but in this mission they are necessary in order to ensure survival. It's almost like the designers put me into a situation which can't reasonably be won by the first-tier warriors in Micaiah's forces, so they have ot rely on better and more experienced units in order to progress through parts like this one.

I'm actually goign to be using my prepromotes to do a lot of attacking when I try this mission again. It's a bizarre feeling.

Also Meg sucks.

I believe you are talking about the map where there are 4 hills you can't climb (all for sides of the map) and the Pegasus come from each hill, and there are a few Armors that come at you from the north east corner.

You don't need to use Tauroneo, but you may need to use Volug and Sothe a tiny bit. I just disarmed Tauroneo and used him as a shield.

Honestly, all you really have to do is stay to the far right and create a wall against the hill and let jill/archers pick off the Pegasus knights that come from the right. They'll fly down to attack, but then not have enough movement to get back up, so they are exposed. So you keep your weak units in the center, and your stronger units on the edges.

Once you are done with that, I sent Jill to the south and the rest of my army to the north to take care of the next wave of Pegasus. You then draw out the armors and take them out with mages and continue on your way, but move Jill back to the north to take out the last set of Pegasus. Other Pegasus will attack you, but they will be far enough away that you can let them approach and then just take them out with Jill/archers.

The map really isn't that hard at all compared to some of the others.

EDIT: yes, Meg sucks, but she works great as a shield against the Pegasus. I kill her off later in the game when she doesn't shield well any more.
