Triple post in my own thread? How sad. Yet I will do it - if no more conversation is to be sparked, then this topic shall die a good death.
Man it's less active in here since Oyvoyvoyv left.
Anyway. Radiant Dawn.
So I'm on chapter - I think it's 6? Should be 6. The Daein soldiers, Jill and her crew, have joined up, and we are working our way to the other side of a valley with unscalable walls on either side. Enemy reinforcements are coming in constantly. Most of them are pegasus knights.
I have three mages. Micaiah and Ilyanna can survive one attack - one - but Laura is so slow that she's double-attacked and dies every time. The worst part is that many of these pegasus knights are carrying Javelins, so they can hit across a defensive line that doesn't have an empty space behind it. And they come from both sides of the canyon, so I can't just have Laura stand behind Tauroneo or something. When more than one of them shows up and are outside of killing range, I've started to have Tauroneo rescue her so she can't be attacked unless he is killed (which will not happen).
This mission is making me reconsider the accepted logic of the games. I try to go through without using prepromotoes like Tauroneo and Volug and Sothe, but in this mission they are necessary in order to ensure survival. It's almost like the designers put me into a situation which can't reasonably be won by the first-tier warriors in Micaiah's forces, so they have ot rely on better and more experienced units in order to progress through parts like this one.
I'm actually goign to be using my prepromotes to do a lot of attacking when I try this mission again. It's a bizarre feeling.
Also Meg sucks.
