LOST PLANET 2: Does The PS3 Really Need This Title?

http://ps3thevolution.com/2009/04/09/lost-planet-2-does-the-ps3-really-need-this-title/

Every since the XboxLIVE video announcement and trailer, gamers have speculated whether or not CAPCOM would bless the Playstation 3 with their new upcoming title, LOST PLANET 2. By accounts the game does look incredible and the added features to the series, some of which were shown in the latest video like cooperative play really does add a new dimension to the experience.

Recently Capcom has pondered the idea of bringing LOST PLANET 2 to the PS3 which would make sense. It is not rocket science to figure out that CAPCOM would be broadening their games users base and fattening their wallet at the same time.

As reported by VG247, When the producer was quizzed on a PS3 version of the game, he stated: “We’re still thinking about it and haven’t announced a PS3 version, so we can’t say more about it just yet.” - PR News

However, with a plethora of PS3 exclusives dropping this year the question Playstation ThEvolution is now asking is, does the PS3 really need LOST PLANET 2? Of course the more great games the marrier but would PS3 users really be missing out if CAPCOM decided to keep LOST PLANET 2 as an Xbox 360 exclusive?

Looking at the gaming forecast, without LOST PLANET 2 PS3 users will still find themselves juggling between some great multiplatform and exclusive titles this year. A release date of LOST PLANET 2 for the PS3 is something CAPCOM would have to be concerned with. With titles such as Heavy Rain, Infamous, MAG, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time, Modern Warfare 2, Ghost Recon 3, GOD OF WAR III, The Agency and many others all dropping this year LOST PLANET 2 might get lost in the shuffle.

A release date for LOST PLANET 2 has yet to be announced but it would be safe to say that CAPCOM is more concerned with releasing LOST PLANET 2 on the PS3 than PS3 users are with LOST PLANET 2.

Egh, I wouldn't mind to have it on the PS3. But I wouldn't care if it didn't come out on it either.

i bought the first for the mechas. thats about it, and i dont think id buy a sequel unless it had tons of cool mechas, but so far, nothing

Nope it doesnt, PS3 has plenty of games.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

No, it's just a sequel from a mediocre franchise.

Is the PS3 port good, or is it unplayable?

I agree with this statement,
"CAPCOM is more concerned with releasing LOST PLANET 2 on the PS3 than PS3 users are with LOST PLANET 2."

I won't be buying it on either platform.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

It's safe to say that if you didn't care about this title, you wouldn't write an article about it.

ps3 port was same game as 360 counterpart...................

but...................

the visuals wernt as good as 360 version. it was clear that it was a cash in port. capcom got the sales of it they wanted imo.

many people dont know but LP cash in port was released at £19.99 it wasnt full price.
