To all that says multi platform, didn't Sony and Sega made an exclusive deal, hence they both making the anime?

Not that I've heard.

I assume Sega made these games exclusive knowing that they'd sell upwards of 50% of their sales in Japan (more like 80% for the Yakuza titles).  They've already said that will never bring the Initial D game (made on the same engine as Valkyria Chronicles) out of Japan.

Do we ever here about these "deals" except for blatnat speculation.

Honestly the fact that Sony liscened the VC anime makes it seem more likely then any of those 360 RPGs MS apparently moneyhatted.

Exactly and Sony is also publishing the music of the game, while Sega is sponsoring the anime which means their deal on this particular IP is probably a joint venture of some sort.

OMFG, If this actually happens. I will start dancing like CGI does when he see new info on Heavy Rain.

Dancing like an idiot incoming......

Does this mean you got new info on Heavy Rain?????   Come on man dont tease me.

As soon as I do, you'll be the first to know. I will be getting VC and it's sequel though....

Yes, I know, I need to buy Valkyria Chronicles....don't worry....I will.....

Well do it now or sometime between now and May 2nd(or so). Gamestop has the game on sale for 29.99 as oposeded to it's initial 59.99 price tag. No excuses ^^

i may be naive here, but i dont know what is everyones big thing for VC. i got the demo, and maybe the demo doesnt do it justice, but it seemed boring and slow to me. i wasnt 100% sure what to do[that could have factored in on the boringness], and it just seemed.. weird. everyone is saying how good it is, though, so i might have to buy it used or something.

good luck finding a used copy. I have yet to see one and I work at Gamestop.

Just buy the damn thing, you wont be disappointed if you like JRPGs. It plays at the same "pace" as they do, if not faster. It has strong RTS elements that allow you to control a whole squadron (known as the infamous "Squad 7"!!!!

im with you on that.. i also disliked the demo..at that time i had already ordered my copy..otherwise i might not have bought  it at all

the thing is the first 2 or 3 missions are pretty boring because the game wants to hold your hand and teach you the basics .with only the scout and the tank being avaiable but as soon as you have acess to the others classes , and your reasearch and development, training ground , squad members and equipment options the game gets really great

from there on the battles get bigger and more complicated ..you get new squad members, weapon upgrades your teammates unlock new abilities etc

the demo shows none of that and thats why its not a good basis to judge the gameplay

tl.dr .. the demo does not do the game justice, its much better than that

*Spoilers*

If it's a sequel will it be decades into the future? I thought the game ended with a long truce between the two countries or something? Unless they're going to do a Cold War analogy or something...

Doesn't anyone think that a sequel is kinda anti-climatic, given the whole message and theme of the first game?

Depends on how they do it, it could turn out to be a prequel to the original for all we know.

But yeah, it is a little anti-climatic, though the idea of another game in the same vain as VC can make me forgive it.

EWI would be pretty cool. But still I have a feeling they're going for a series (at least 3 games), and just doing prequel and leaving everything behind makes it feel even more wrong. But I guess it's the gameplay that matters the most...

Out of the blue observation: Why is it that Killzone 2 and VC, although they're main reference is Nazi Germany, also refer to the Cold War and Soviet Union for inspiration?

I have been thinking about what a prequel to VC would be like. How many people we already know should we bump into, should we be playing as them (Largo, Varot, Welkin's dad?), or should we play completely seperated from?

I also think a game set in EWI would be cool, because we don't know a lot about it. Sure, we know some of the basics of what happened, but there is still a lot of room for story telling.

Or, we could see the battles between the Atlantic Federation and the Empire. Or the Altanic Federation between Gallia.

The AF is a place I feel they can really explore!

VC is an amazing game but I agree it could go multiplat. Even the Wii could handle it.

Don't fool yourself. Even on the PS3, VC had a few seldom framerate drops.

Yeah it's hard to say.

All the framerate drops were centered around the grass though.

Can't tell if it's powerful or just poorly coded.

The biggest I had was at Ghirlandio. Oscar sniping someone from the beginning of the map all the way at the other end.

I got it under 10 FPS.
