Shhhhh! wait for the cut!
| mrstickball said: Fanboy kneejerk reactions....I tire of these threads. Wouldn't it be smarter, PS3 fans, to wait until more solid trends show up? NPD is just around the corner. Don't claim victory until the numbers are confirmed. |
My original comment was leaning more towards what mrstickball listed above.
I do apologize for not properly educating myself on the recent sales adjustment made showing the PS3 has been closer in sales the last 6 weeks. I thought it was only this week, not the prior weeks. My bad.
That being said, 3-6 weeks, a trend does not make. Remember all the 360 fans saying that "10k in Japan might be the new average in sales" because of a similar 6 week trend. Sony fans have since lit them up for those comments. Now comments like this are coming after sales numbers have shown 360 with only a slight sales advantage from the same people who criticized the others for similar comments. That is.......unfortunate. I see it in the Japan sales threads as well, now that the PS3 has outsold the Wii for over a month. A trend....?......we shall see.
My comment was more directed towards the fact that more time is needed before people start jumping the gun regarding "new trends", regardless of preferred console choice. YoY 360 has improved significantly, considering back in July 08, everyone was painting the "360 doom & gloom" and "3rd year console death" threads. The fact that sales are up a significant % and it continues to sell out it's direct competitor is a more "concrete" trend (IMO).
| reask said: Well considering the cell was supposed to pwn 360 as soon as it came out I dont think MS will be too worried. |
Nice damage control but allow me to easily counter that saying when you release a year ahead and have the lowest priced console in the market then you're definitely supposed to be "pwing" the competition (or at least the PS3), and yes MS should be worried (fact: they are, but won't tell us, of course).

LOL......fair enough.....:)
Sony should simply be content of keeping at bay MS and to prevent it from widening the gap as many weeks as it can, waiting for being able to cut price. It's doing a good job, not miracles, and the best time for a cut (now that it's more likely than before that it won't follow a two smaller cuts strategy with a first one this Spring) is still 20-25 weeks away.

Yes, MS is worried that the PS3 is catching up selling close to the 360. They are scared even though they have a 8million lead coming from a generation where they lost by more than 100MILLION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Omg, X360 is doomed people, DOOMED! Geez...
No, seriously. With the last adjustments, I think the console is indeed slowing down. Killzowned, I'd say
