Holy shit, Nintendo.

Stop working and buy the whole PS3 software catalog !
Upgrade my home theater sound system too and buy every Blu Ray that even remotely interest me....

With the 4.99 billion left over I would probably buy 2 million copies of every PS3 title I like to make them profitable and ensure they get sequels !

Then the whole video game business would translate into  making games I enjoy because I represente 2 million sales !

Bet ya my local best Buy would give me huge discounts too if I did 2 million units pre-orders!

Cut out the middlemen. Buy controlling stock in a major publisher or two and start issuing edicts.

I probably would have more impact accross the whole industry my way than by taking a stakes in a couple publishers.....

Imagine  how the industry would be transformed if suddenly you could make a high budget game profitable just by pleasing one guy !

Good luck getting any game I like as Wii exclusive too if I have my way !

$5 Billion could buy you 50.1% of Electronic Arts($3.1B), 50.1% of Sega ($1.3B), with enough left over to buy a few small developers as well.

5 billion is WAY too much..

If it's true.. lower the price of the average Wii to $44.99, it would help my wallet and you don't need the money that much. :P

@WiiStation360: I doubt EA and Sega are the first in Ails mind when we are talking about good games. Anyway, it wouldn't make much sense if Ail would put the two to make games for him and then see them going belly up. It would be much more efficient to buy the 2 million copies of each game he likes. He would get a whopping 41 games.

Where is all that money even coming from? I wish I could see the breakdown! Or understand it, I suppose.

Yeah but if the games those companies make keep selling like shit that would not be such a good idea ( and don't forget that if I buy 50% of EA none of the money goes to EA so that's not going to help them make games I like...).

A company isn't successfull by making games that please the shareholder..

I think it's a case where as a customer you have a more power ( provided you manage to represent over 50% of the market by yourself).

Heck if I go your way it would be a better idea to give money to a few publisher/developers to make me games I want ( like here is 50 millions, make me a kick ass game( and by the way you can sell it to others too, as long as I like it I don't care)).

AH the fun I would have with this industry if I had Bill Gates's money....
