Well it sounds like The secret world may have a different development team seperate from the Age of Conan one. The Secret World has been an idea for 7 years. 4 of those years was developing ideas and groundwork. The last 3 years has been spent on code and game engine design. Considering Age Of Conan was being worked on in that time to I would suggest that it's 2 different teams.

Also Remember this is NOT the average grinding level up MMO. There is NO level system for those worried about that. It's based purely and what you do, the skills you use. And it aims at mythology in reality. Areas include London, New York and some others I cant remember. It's explained in the 2nd vid of the OP. :)

Did you read anything about the release? it's apparently been in development for a while, MS just didn't announce it way too early, like Sony does.

 

did you read what i said? O_o; , i said i like how MS comes out with MMO's after Sony (or to be more specific , SOE)  announced that they are making 3 + MMOs (on their blog) , they didnt show anything about them until 2007.

After the monster showed up, I found it quite generic to be honest.

Champions Online is another MMO coming to consoles. That one should be good. I enjoyed city of heroes.

I do believ APB and Huxley were announced in '05. Though I'M NOT SURE, just so ya know.

I also believe APB is PC exclusive with any console release, including PS3, still pending while Huxley has been put on hold for 360 to focus on the PC version. There is also Marvel Universe Online which was cancelled a year or two ago. Finally, there is Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures that is still waiting to see development in the 360 version with the PC version launching last year.

360 has a horrible track record for MMOs, with them being put on hold, releasing extremely late, or being cancelled all together.

Seriously, at this point the race is between the 360 version being released and the servers closing down... too bad, we need more competition in the MMO arena. I hope the financial downturn does not affect this game, I like its concept much more.

I really couldn't care less for any of these MMOs right now, so cancelled or not....I just want Tales of Eternia online, which got blasted a while back :P Besides, chances are that we'd have to pay extra to play them, so feh!
