PES = poo since about 4 versions ago. I was a PES nut since PES1. PES3 showed us what they could do...PES4 gave us beautiful graphics and lush animation...PES5 didn't do much...PES6 was a joke...PES2008 was awful...PES2009 was a disgrace and an embarresment.

Konami have lost all the respect they earnt in the early years by deepthroating us repeatedly whilst raping our wallets without shame. A lot of people got suckered into PES2009, but it was so bad I really don't think it will work again this year what do you guys think?

Thinking about it, it felt like playing "Super Sidekicks" on the NeoGeo in 3D.

Well i have to agree that the two latest games in PES have been subpar (i totally disagree with PES 6 being bad, it was the my second favourite, along with PES 2, and PES 4 to me is the worst). Even though i still play PES 2009 to this day, i have found it to be extremely annoying sometimes, mainly because the A.I is very screwed up, one second they leave you lot's of space to run and the next second you see all the other team stuck inside their own Box.

In my opinion, what they are trully lacking is a complete licensing of the major football leagues, since it sucks only to have a few licensed teams, and having to personalise all the other teams each time a new game comes out.

Also, they have to improve the one player mode. Even though i like it, it plays awfull for the first two seasons, and most gamers don't have the patience to put up with days of gaming for nothing.

PES2 and PES3 on PS2 were best

PES4 was godlike; PES6 got everything from PES4 and had slightly better graphics, so it's the ultimate PES game. (They're basically the same game with almost no differences, so I don't know how anybody could love any of them while hating the other)
The referee in PES5 was a joke.....

PES2008 and 2009 are just bad. If they continue that direction I really hope FIFA will crush'em.

Did you actually try fifa 09?  08 wasn't really it but you could already see they were going in the right direction, 09 is a very enjoyable game.  PES2008 and 2009 are mediocre IMO.

I tried the latest Fifa... then I remembered why I prefer PES :P and yes, that's including 2009.
