Umm, when did the 360 sell 347 million consoles?
The average gamerscore should be 1747 (although a little higher since some people aren't online), not 150.
The average number of achievments is 84.

I knew there was something wierd about that number, unless they meant 150 acheivements unlocked on average per person.

Remember guys, that they said per XBox gamer.  This could be from multiple users on the same 360.  And they might even be including GFWs numbers.  But not sure how many users that would add.

Like I said, they'd need 347 million for it to average out to 150. I doubt GFWL and extra accounts brings it anywhere near that.

Okay, going to the original source, it said "number of achievements per XBL member". That makes sense.

How many of you like the achievements?

I for one think that it´s one of the best things MS has done for gaming and I absolutly love it.

I do !

I can't play without following the achievements anyway.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Impressive that ~10% of the 360 userbase achieved ~37% of the total Gamerscore.

(assuming every MGC user only has one account) If not.... even more impressive !!!

@ barozi, there are only 17m members of Xbox Live

I too would agree that achievements (and trophies) are the best thing this gen, they make me try new things in the game, and ensure that I get the most out of a game

Oh okay I thought they took the average from those 17m Xbox Live members and assumed the same average for the rest.

But after reading the article at Gamasutra.....

"So far Xbox Live players have unlocked 2.5 billion achievements and racked up a collective Gamerscore of 52 billion points, reports Greenberg. That's almost 150 achievements per Xbox Live member."

Jon Hicks from OXM did a bad job here.

That's almost as many as the number of consoles they have had to repair due to RROD!

Obvious trolling doesn't get a ban?  WTF is going on with the moderations around here?

You can get told off for moaning about that sort of thing, (I agree though your ban was stupid)

BengaBenga is probably the most helpful mod on this site so make sure you go to him first ;)

edit: nvm, don't want this thread to go even more off topic.

...

Achievement Unlocked!
