And if it actually was a satellite?
shooting it down would have looked like a weakness.

No it would not have.  NK is clearly violating UN ICBM regulations that prohibit them from launching them.  In any case, satelite or missile, it was launched upon a Taepodong-2 ballistic missile that threatens the greater Pacific area.

Actually, the bbc reported that south korean ministry reported that they did in fact see a satellite on the rocket.
Taepodong-2 is not an ICBM, it's a rocket. there's a difference.

Iran pose no threat. They do not support terrorism in any way. The only reason people hate them is the islamophobia that George Bush used to try and the American people whipped into a frenzy so he could do what he wanted. They do not condone the actions of so called muslim terrorists, no true Muslim (or muslim country) does.

Actually, it's quite the opposite. When Bush went into Iraq, NK and Iran were far better targets with respect to dangerous countries. He just wanted to attack Iraq.

Iran and NK are really serious issues. Personally, I don't think they are serious for the US, as Iran will take out Israel the first chance it can, and NK will attack Japan before it attacks us.

We should care because we should care, but we should do very little about it until one of our allies who is in far more danger asks us to.

I actually totally agree.  I mean if Bush was going to pre-emptively invade anyone, Iraq was the wrong choice.  Iran would have been a much better choice.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

its not that big of a deal really, NORAD never bothered to give it a tracking ID. the problem is with the UK and USA's obligations to Japan and other country's and islands in the area from WW2. most of these country's wanted to renew contracts with the US and UK to provide protection, contracts that was drawn up right after WW2. it was there choice not the US or UK to still be bound to 64 year old contract.

Japan and S Korea feels threatened by these rockets, so the US and UK have to act if ether of these country's feels there safety is in danger.

Russia,UK,China and the US all came together and decided that country's who do not show the ability to responsibly use weapons of mass destruction wont be allowed develop such weapons. both Iran and N Korea's leaders has said publicly on radio,TV, public speakings that certain people, country's, people of certain religions don't have the right to live on the planet Earth. in saying so they show the lack of understanding and responsibility to control weapons of mass destruction in till they decide join the rest or the world in believing all men are created equal.

I am really saddened that you don't see the light on this.   Iran is a financier of Hellbollah, Hamas, al-Qaeda in Mesopotomia that killed US forces with Iranian IEDs and more.  I know that extremists are to be frowned upon in Islam but when you can't really excuse an entire country who yells Death to America, Death to Israel every weekend.

I would encourage you to read up on the Iranian's actions in re to terrorism: http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2007-01-30-ied-iran_x.htm

... You obviously don't know many Muslims or Iranians do you? Most Muslims shun terrorist activity and I'm sure the same goes in Iran, I know three or four Iranians and they dispise terrorist activity. What's happened here is that you listened to Bush far to much. That guy just wanted to cause trouble for Islam for some reason, every time a heard him talk, it was about "muslim terrorists". He constantly used it to get his way.

Also, I could say Americans hated Britain because they used to finance the IRA. the truth is only a few Americans were saying death to the British. But I could say all of you did it in the same way you say that all Iranians apparently yells death to america every weekend.

So you don't think that if Iran had a nuclear weapon, they would attack Israel with it?

now for SubiyaCryolite who claims hypocrisy on the USA. Well grow up. Since when is the world fair?

The only nations that should have Nuclear weapons are the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, and the People's Republic of China. Now both Pakistan and India also have them and if they were trying to get them now I am sure the USA along with other countries would be throwing a fit.

Israel is also expected to have them and of course USA didn't throw a fit because it's their allies. It is also not official.

You seem to be complaining that it is not fair for the USA to use their power that they have obtained. This is ridiculous. Of course the USA is going to use their power to try to benefit them as much as power. As would any other country.

Every World Super Power in history are hypocrites. Rome, and the British Empire were also hated for this. A country is always going to look out for itself 1st.

I don't understand , if u agree that the USA politics isn't fair then why r u mad that he is upset with the "unfairness"?
