In order Metal Gear touch Metal gear solid - PS1 Metal gear Solid 3 - PS2 (picture is in higher resolution than theo ther two, and higher than the PS2 outputs at)
Care to take what you said back?
As for gameplay - I haven't played it, and neither have you. So lets wait until someone gets to this thread that has played it |
There you go. Looks much better in motion too.
You might like the art direction on that better, but in terms of actual graphics it doesn't hold a candle to MGtouch

Exuse me ?
Seriously i mean no offense but the only thing metal gear touch has going for it is the zooming in.
The rest is like a flash game from 2004. You can't honestly believe what you just said as it's rediculous concidering i've provided videos of both games showing the metal gear to be no more advanced then a simple flash game.
Ok, a quick comparison
Backgrounds
MG:Touch - detailed, lighting effects, good textures
Your game: simplistic, no lighting effects, bad textures
Character models
MG:touch - crisp, realistic, detailed
Your game - lacking in detail, unrealistic - As I don't know a thing about the game, I'm not sure if that is the art style or just that that's the best the PS1 could do
I recognise that Metal gear Touch is easier to make it look good, due to the fact that it is not proper 3d. That's why I challenged you to find any game on the PS1 that actually looks better. Find a game on the PS1 that isn't actually 3d, because that game you provided looks at least a gen behind MG:Touch
From what I can see, iPhone/iTouch games are a small step up from the mobile games I was playing on my SE 4 years ago. And they may be ideal for the commuter going to work or for those going to Uni or other seeing as they are short, technically shallow games, but when I made the jump to a PSP, the difference is huge.
And here I thought there was claims that the iPhone/iTouch was more powerful that the PSP and original Xbox?
We have yet to see this come true and of course there will be huge limitations due to only having a touchscreen.
Although, this being said, I think there is a place for these games in general. People will buy them, but they need to be dirt cheap seeing as there isn't much to them.
Prediction (June 12th 2017)
Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.
PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)
PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

Look at the video again. The game is so simplistic that it holds nothing to the ps1 game. The ps1 game has more action and movement going on.. and it looks better.
Here. Same genre, 3d and a lot lot more action packed.
And you can't deny. This game is .. 10-20 times more advanced then the mgt game.
Ok, a few things about that video you posted.
The video shown, is of a the game projected onto a big screen, then recorded with a video camera from a tripod... The video of Time Crisis is not. It is taken directly from the output of the console.
Second of all, I don't see how you think this comparison is going to favour you. The MG:touch game shows a highly detailed, highly realistic scene. Time Crisis on the other hand is more of an arcade style
Thirdly, MG:touch looks much better. Look at the textures in TC, horrible. Characters are blocky and also have bad textures.
MG:touch >>> TC
I've got one and in a few words; 'it's shit for gaming'.
Nothing really more to say.
The iPhone, NGage, and cell phone gaming in general is going to be a casual market.
The big splash game when iPhone games first premiered was a handheld version of a game that had been on virtually every system released over the last two generations -- Super Monkey Ball.
The link is to a discussion about its development and distribution from GDC (via Gamasutra): http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=22871
Basically, this is a whole other world. And that will make what sells -- and what is released -- very different.
