Forums - Nintendo - Majora's Mask Collector's Edition

There seem to be a lot of bugs in the Collecter's Edition of Majora's Mask on the GameCube. Namely lag, sound glitches and freezes/lock-ups.

I'm wondering, has anyone here played the PAL version of this game with rumble disabled? If so, can you tell me if it still has the bugs I mentioned?

I'm wondering if I should buy the game for the Virtual Console or if I should buy the Collector's Edition...

Hopefully they'll just go and bring the damn game out on VC

i have played the game on the collectors edition. it ran fine, but there was noticeable lag in some of the area of clock town, and even some monster fights.

it has never locked up on me.

They didn't bring it out in North America though.... So should I play the collectors edition, the N64 version or the VC version when it gets released? I've only ever played it for a few hours back when I first got my N64 in 2001

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

It locked-up and froze on me like twice, in Clock Town going up the steps that led to the part of the town that leads to the ocean.

And in the main area in South Clock Town, it's really laggy.

Yeah, lookin at in now. Defo gonna get this : D I played it ages ago but never finished it for some reason.

I own the PAl version and there was noticeable lag on occation but it is not a huge problem by any means. The most annoying thing for me was the sound emulation, in which certain sound effects are accompanied with a rather unpleasent buzzing noise. Once again this is only select sound effects and most of the tunes come across fine.

As far as the game freezing goes, I've had it lock up on me three times, thankfully I was not doing anything importent at the time. I don't know if there are certain areas or events that are more likely to trigger a lock-up and considering that the three times the game froze on me had very large gaps of playtime inbetween it shouldn't be considered much of a problem. However it should be noted that due to Majora's Masks unusual save system, a lock-up at the wrong time could be nothing short of a catastrophe and could potentialy set you back hours.

Thanks. Did you play with rumble enabled or disabled?
