I haven't been a member here for a long time but it didn't take me that long to realize that this site was different than most sites. When I looked at news articles/forums from various sites all the anti-Nintendo comments would just sadden me (with only a few Nintendo people trying to stick up for Nintendo). Fanboys are rampant everywhere and it seemed like most of their rants were very immature even though they could have been adults. Sure there are plenty of fanboys here but at least most of them try to bring valid facts to the arguments (not just opinion rants). I am guilty of some opinion rants. However, I always try to bring legitamite facts to the argument whenever possible. Some members might seem delusional but at least their forum topics usually spark interesting debates. Looking back it seemed this fanboy war started around the 16-bit era with Nintendo and Sega battling it out (history could go back later although Atari and Nintendo dominated the previous generations). Once Sony and Microsoft joined it seemed to just get worse. I wish all gamers could get along but there will always be diehard fans. I will probably only own Nintendo for the rest of my life, but I do realize the accomplishments of the other companies (games and systems). If there wasn't any competition then the industry probably wouldn't have advanced to this point. I salute those that buy all consoles and stay out of the flame wars. However, I still see people that claim to own all 3 systems yet totally put one down like it is an abomination to society. They might have more of a right to do this if they actually tried playing the certain system and the best games it has to offer than someone who just simply hates it without trying. Anyways, I look forward to seeing more intellectual debate on this site and less hatred. I know we all can't get along but lets at least try! I am proud of VGC community although there is always room for improvements!
