Forums - Nintendo - WTF? I got Wii Fit ???????

I do not believe in the effect of Wii Fit either, but coincidentally i have lost 30 pounds since i got Wii Fit. I think the main thing is that it confronts you with your own weight and sets targets for weight loss.

I don't use Wii Fit very often anymore, but still take it out from under the counch once every 2 or 3 weeks. Which means if you add up all the time on Wii fit i have spent, well, there are only a few games on the Wii which i have spent more time on.

(P.s. i just wish nintendo or TP's would take more advantage of the 20 million user base of Wii Fit. Especially since the average balance board game has sold close to a million copies)

I blame wii fit!

Also CASUAL!

@ OP After your recent thread hating on Wii Fit this makes me think one of two things.

1) You are typing up a thread to represent both sides of the argument and are in fact just trying to upset people.

2) Your opinions on things change like the direction that the wind blows.

So which is it?

I think I'm the only person using Wii Fit to gain weight instead of lose weight. Just being able to see my weight every day gets me to think about my diet and exercise routine. And working on my balance gets me to think about my posture every day, which has completely fixed the back problems I've had since I was 16. $90 on Wii Fit today is better than over $9,000 on back surgery later on. Hell, there's a gym across the street that costs $124 a month minimum, and that's if you only go twice a week. Only thing I'm not working out right now is my biceps and shoulders. I guess I should get some 25 pounders.

I always wanted to try Wii Fit but never had the cash flow for it. Maybe sometime in the future. I had to lose weight for Coast Guard (about 25 lbs+) and I have somehow managed to do it by semi starving myself and running on treadmill a lot. Right now I have dropped 20 lbs or so in less than a month. Cut out the beer drinking, limit diet, and exercise helps a lot! I wouldn't mind Wii Fit for possible improved flexibility though.

woooooo... 20 pounds in a month... thats not to healthy bro...

You can really fuck up your body that way...not to mention the risk of gaining back the weight 2 fold is increased heavily that way..

When you get to the weight you want, focus on working your metabolism, that way the weight gain rebound won't be bad, or none at all..

cutting out beer is a great way to help lose weight.. but at the same time, some new studies say drinking a beer or two before/after a workout can increase performance and functionality, some has to do with the alcohol thinning the blood, and most for the carbs.. when working out you reduce your blood sugar, the carbs from beer act like a insulin shock to the system, the insulin spike puts your body into an anabolic state, or muscle building... but your doing more cardio so much of this does not apply because your not looking for muscle, but to shed weight..

I would like to know who had the idea for this study and how it was conducted :) Sounds like something out of the ig-nobel prizes.

Yea, my weight fluctuates a lot as is. I can go up or down 5-10 lbs in a week or two when I am not paying attention to what I am eating or vice versa. I found the best way to lose weight was to eat a lot ~1,500-2,000 calories for breakfast and lunch. a Then just eat fruit or protein drink for dinner. It was my late night munching/drinking that caused the last weight gain. I was 220lbs then I jumped to 245lbs in 1-2 months. So I am pretty much back to where I started. I was just lazy and eating bad that caused the last weight gain. When I focus on what I eat and make sure to exercise I do pretty good. I did drink 2 beers yesterday after I ran 2.25 miles and then I got on the treadmill again and went 3 miles after a few hours. I ended up losing 1 lb yesterday. Two beers is supposedly not too bad for health (possibly just as good as drinking 1 beer if someone is around my weight, and 1 drink a day is supposed to be good for body) and if drink it mid day instead of night and possible exercise before or after I am sure it wouldn't be too bad / possibly beneficial. One thing I love about limiting drinking is that drinking 2 beers actually gives me a pretty decent buzz when it used to barely affect me. Lowering tolerance is pretty sweet and saves money.

1. I was referring to this thread and another thread.  Not just this one

2. You were ripping on someone for using it as opposed to going to the gym and now you are praising it.  Like I said, as often as the wind blows.

I agree with one thing that you said.  It's the last line of your sig.  This is why I am done arguing.
