Forums - Nintendo - reggie interview. wants GTA on wii,not publishing fatal frame in USA, more

I know Disaster:DoC didn't do well, but it's not like NoA release schedule is remotely busy. They could easily slip it in. Why not??

The only reason I can see for NoA not bothering with D:DoC is because it'd just add fire to the 'Core games can't sell on Wii' argument. Plus lousy sales. Shame. I'd buy it.

Hope someone else picks up Fatal Frame 4 though. I'm sure it'll come eventually.

I don't think they care so much about that argument to avoid a profitable venture...

I think what's more likely is that it wouldn't be profitable. Without a better localization, I don't think it would sell in the US. A better localization would also cost more money, they'd need both writers and actors. That's my theory anyway.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

I still love Reggie, i think he is just being very confident because Nintendo have some big games coming, from the third parties as well, i hope they deliver and please the fans this time.

Tecmo should publish FF its their title after all

It's a dumb move for them to not go with Fatal Frame IV. Best selling Fatal Frame so far from JP sales alone. A little cross-promotion could go a long way with that one. Certainly wouldn't perform any worse than a lot of stuff companies publish

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Well Fatal Frame just need a publisher. Why won't NOA publish it? I think it's because NOA doesn't believe the game is good enough and wants to make some changes to it, but who knows.

"¿Por qué justo a mí tenía que tocarme ser yo?"

Damn I didn't get to own Pristine... I am way way too late

Still... May as well post these anyway:

NPD Wii sales.

Jan 2008 - 274k
Feb 2008 - 432k
Mar 2008 - 721k
Apr 2008 - 714k

Jan 2009 - 679k
Feb 2009 - 753k

Not too far off 800k... and if they see an increase in March like last year (won't be as big an increase as last year due to poor supply before a sudden influx around SSBB, but could still be an increase) then they could go over 800k this March

In fact, as March is a 5 week month by NPD... sales would have to slow down for it to not hit 800k

Good enough? meh.

fatal frame seems perfect to me, no need for changes unless it's to revamp the 3d modeling and such

game play was smooth for me

He didn't say Fatal Frame 4 is not coming to the US, he said there's no publishers yet to release it in the US ...and he don't no who that publisher would be..

Fatal Frame 4 better make it into the US otherwise I'm going on a strike in front of videogame stores defaming the Wii..... lol jk.

My Trigger Happy Sixaxis controller

So NOA isn't going to publish Fatal Frame 4 but Reggie is demanding to know why RE5 doesn't have a Wii version? Put your money where your mouth is Reggie otherwise you're just a poser.

Wow. Normally reggie is always very talkative and all and here seems very..robotic

Fils-Aime: Stephen, I think that’s a great question to ask me in early June at E3.

Adding fuel to the fire huh?

"...our philosophy around demos has always been: how much demo do you provide to have the consumer excited but not so much that all they do is play the demo? That’s been an ongoing Nintendo philosophy."

Then why does the DS have demos available on the Nintendo Channel?
Demos could turn people off of a game, but it will also send them in pursuit of another one.
